Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
Zorn ticked and a little confused at the post game presser. Did you catch that exchange....SAY WHAT..?
|
Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
Zorn got pissed at a reporter for rolling his eyes. He called the reporter out and pounded his fist on the podium! Zorn is going to be in several Coors Light ads.

Never seen the Z man in that form....thought he was gonna kick some reporters ass! LMAO Come to think of it he was in the same form with CP in the 2nd quarter! |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
Zorns even nice when he is mad! Good guy!

Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
6-2 is terrific!
I think the guys are fatigued. They had an intense training camp, an extra preseason game, and then 5 games against difficult opponents to start the regular season. I think this team badly needs the bye week not just for injury issues but also for emotional health. I predict bigger margins of victory after the bye week. Let's hope that they play Pittsburgh tough and then enjoy a well-deserved rest. HTT 6-2 R! |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
CP being interviewed now.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
CP said he was fine. He said this is football season....a little rest and hes ready to go Monday Night! Great News!
He also said the event with The Coach is over....they put it aside and moved on. He said coach was a little excited. |

Of course in 04 we should of won that game.. ehhh |

Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
Game was awesome!!!!!! Boy the Skins away crowd was just stupendous!!!!! They were loud and proud and it is a great testament to the classiness of Skins fans in general. Lots of burgundy and yellow in the stands today. I even met a Skins fan that came all the way from Toronto!! I was lucky enough to sit by a big bunch of Skins fans in the upper section in the one end zone(cheap seats). Still a very nice view of the game though. Skins are solid all around, but we do need to get a much needed pass rush scheme soon. Also, we need to quit the formations with no back to help protect Jason. 2 sacks=2 fumbles by Jason, and he didin't have any backs to help out with the rush.

Deion's an idiot! but....
DEION LAUNCHES THE IRONIC NICKNAME CLUB Posted by Mike Florio on October 26, 2008, 7:54 p.m. So we’re watching this weekend the highlight show on NFL Network. And Rich Eisen is narrating clips from the Redskins-Lions game (which was played in windy Ford Field). And Eisen mentions Redskins running back Shaun Alexander, the 2005 NFL MVP. And then Deion Sanders barks out his pet name for Alexander. Deion calls Alexander the “Tiptoe Burglar.” It’s funny. And it’s arguably right on the money. But Deion is the last guy who should be poking fun at anyone for being averse to physical contact. In Deion’s world, “run support” means possible procedures for controlling diarrhea. |

Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
There had to be a better RB available than the Tiptoe Burglar. When is Betts back?
|

I haven't caught anything on Betts the last two weeks but, it would be nice to think OR hope he will be ready after the well needed bye week. I hope we get a lot of these nicked guys on the o-line and defense back after the break. The bye this year is coming at the perfect time, just after the half way point. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
O line was subpar today. we need all of our starters back, hopefully for the MNF game to keep momentum going into the bye week. JC shouldn't be put in any formation without at least one back in there to protect him or another TE. 2 sacks = 2 fumbles= 7 Lion's points.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
I'm still concerned about our offense. We are not showing enough and we should have beaten these guys hands down. We did not do that. I hate to say it but a small part of me is afraid JC is regressing a bit. He missed some wide open receivers today and didn’t throw the ball away at critical times. I’m not saying he did poorly, I’m just saying I’m concerned knowing we are playing the Steelers on Monday.
One more thing, that man Zorn has as scary temper.. or is it just Halloween? .. Boo! He's scary! |

JC is not regressing at all. The o-line didn't help matters out much today for the QB. But JC is playing great! Most of JC passes where spot on! Keep up the great work. The o-line has to step it up, in particular JC's blind side (Left tackle fill in Heyer) was the weak link and the penalties did not help. |

EXACTLY. I"m sorry Jason couldn't' complete on 86% of his passes instead of 82% |

I think he had to modify his play style a little due to the fact Samuels was out. I think that hurt the entire O-Line severely. The whole style of passing and rushing had to change. While the game looked ugly on TV, on paper it looked like we handed the Lions their ass. |

The numbers were great today but I have seen us dominate the stat lines and still lose the game in the past. I hate losing to teams we manhandled in everyway but in the scoring department. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
O line was a problem, especially when JC went back to pass with no backfield. Second half CP didn't get any real holes, with the exception of the last big play that ended up icing the game. Have to get the O line healthy during the bye.

While the game looked ugly on TV, on paper it looked like we handed the Lions their ass.
That's seems to be our calling card. The only game we haven't really dominated the stat sheet was week 1. Yet we just can't put anybody away. It's gotta change. |

Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
JC isn't regressing from what I witnessed today. He is a cool customer and will be a HOF QB. Until the line is healthy though I will say it again, he needs at least one back in all the time to block. That last fumble of his potentially could have let the Lions tie it up. He was destroyed though on that play, no line whatsoever. As soon as the ball was snapped Wham!!!!! We can't have that happen too many times against solid teams like Pittsburgh or the Gmen and expect to win. Thank God the bye is fast approaching and we can get healthy. Didn't think Samuels being out would have such an adverse affect on the O line.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
Besides Samuels, who else is hurt on the line?
|
Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
Besides Samuels, who else is hurt on the line?
I think it was just Samuels that was hurt. I believe this was Heyer's first game back from his injury. But man, it was like Durant Brooks was out there playing LT. It was really bad on that side of the line. Can't help but feel for Kendall a little, he would have to make up where Heyer lacked. |

Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
How about that Santana Moss!!??
He gave me quite a first show. I don't regret my decision to go skins at all. Moss rushing up the line like he was playing basketball, Cooley's do or die short plays, Portis just wearing everyone out! lol, I had a blast! Don't worry. I won't be fair weather. Look at the Redsox fans in baseball. Seems to me being a fan during the bad times makes it all the more sweet when your victorious later. |
