Hey, I can see the Jets going after him. Although do the Jets have any good receivers left? Cotchery is the only one that comes to mind.
From everything he has said, He wants to be back in AZ. He just wants to get paid. And he will. |
Feeling the love boys.
Our priority should be reasonable acquiisitions. Bringing on Canty and a solid addition to the OL (Dockery) is all I hope for. I am seriosuly hesitant of Haynesworth, especially given the money and I wonder a lot about Hall. Why do we think Hall will be good for us? Considering where we were mentally a week ago tonight is amazing though. Until two days ago our FA prospects were basically nil. Now all of a sudden we've got every name player on our radar. What the hell happened?
someone remembered that we were the redskins and danny still owned the team. |

SCOTT, LEWIS LOOK TO BE HEADED TO MARKET
Posted by Mike Florio on February 26, 2009, 11:44 p.m. Despite a late push by the Ravens to re-sign linebackers Bart Scott and Ray Lewis, it looks like deals will come if at all after they hit the open market. According to our own Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times, talks between the team and both of their defensive stalwarts are stalling out. Per Wilson, the Ravens have offered Lewis a three-year, $24 million contract with $17 million guaranteed. Scott’s offer has an annual average of $7 million, and more years. “We’ve been working hard to try to get a deal done with the Ravens and we’re still hopeful and optimistic that something can be worked out, but we want to see which teams will be calling and hear what they have to say,” Scott’s agent, Harold Lewis, told Wilson. “We’re interested in taking some visits, but we don’t plan on doing anything with anybody without at least calling the Ravens back and speaking with [G.M.] Ozzie Newsome. The Ravens remain Bart’s ultimate first choice.” Wilson reports that potential suitors for Scott include the Jets, Giants, Buccaneers, Bengals, Chiefs, Cardinals, Rams, Cowboys, and Lions. As to Lewis, Wilson identifies the Broncos, Cowboys, and Jets as possible alternative destinations. |

DeAngelo Hall Agress To Terms/Canty Could Be Here Friday
The CB has agreed to a deal worth a maximum of $55 million over 6 years, according to league sources. He will receive roughly $23 million guaranteed. Huge deal for Hall. We shall see what it means for Shawn Springs and Carlos Rogers. Will have an update on DE Chris Canty later tonight. Skins could have him here in the AM. |

Don't know what's happening with Brown right now fellas, I think Dockery may be shaking plans up. As I mentioned yesterday though, the interest is there but more on J. Brown's side. Wouldn't be surprised to see them both signed

Re: 2009 Free Agents
According to profootballtalk.com Jason brown of the ravens was offered $7million/year to the rams, the problem is that he does not want to play for them, he's waiting for another team to step up ... Now I know we have no cap space, but maybe we can work out some deal that looks big but doesn't really affect the cap that much or we should just wait for dockery
|
Re: 2009 Free Agents
There's some speculation that the Vrabel deal might actually be part of a bigger Matt Cassell deal
The Brown news isn't too surprising, from all I've heard he really wanted to be a Redskin and stay local, could still happen. |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
We have went back to our old style in FA.. Although we already made 2 big splashes, and maybe we are looking to make more? My question is will this kind of approach work, when it didn't fare well for us in past?

Brown as a starter at guard instead of Kendall, and Dockery as Randy Thomas' insurance? (It sounds like a bit much when you look at it). I still would like to get Jason Brown, it'd be nice to see a talented free agent in the offensive line. |

SFGate: Raiders Silver and Black Blog
I remember the sunday night game when we played the Eagles and all pregame Dawkins was being shown as a "wolverine" super-human. Then Sellers trucked him and it was the end of his x-men days. I never thought Dawkins was that good. He plays like Ray Lewis, jumps on the pile at the end of a play then runs around like he made this amazing tackle. |

dude he prolly has had a hand in more turn-overs than our whole team, in these years we've struggled.
i'll be laughing at Iggles fans all over this place.... the mass txt just went out, shortly followed by another. |

If I was the Eagles I would'nt let him go. But thats an organization that cuts guys due to age . Dawkins on the other hand kind of breaks that mold. |

Seems like Jason Brown to the Rams could be happening by tonight, he's delaying, hoping to maybe get a call from elsewhere (Ashburn) but the call isn't coming right now. |

Lions signed Maurice Morris, solid pick up for them

They cut Donnie Edwards and then send draft picks to NE for essentially the name player (aging LB who will probably be a situational pass rusher this year). |

Did he re-sign with Baltimore??? edit: never mind just read how he upped his contract value. |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
Did he re-sign with Baltimore???
No he had tentatively agreed to a deal with the Jets this morning to a 5 year, $40 million deal. Then he gave the Ravens a chance to match and they allegedly offered 5 and $42 but then the Jets signed him up at 6/$48 million. |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
Did he re-sign with Baltimore???
No, but his hesitancy to sign their initial offer (5 yrs $40M) resulted in the Jets upping it to 6yrs $48M (same per year average, but more in guarantees I think). |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
Brian Dawkins is a Bronco. Busy Day For Broncos - cbs4denver.com.
And Eagles fans are not happy: Brian Dawkins, ex-Eagle My favorites: "farg motherfarging farg shtein shteinfarg!!!!!!AHHHHHHH!!! I am farging sick...actually ill, like a close family member died...." and: "I actually feel as bad right now than I did after they lost the SB. I know, you'll all laugh at me, but I do." Hahahahahahaha!!!!! (I am laughing at them). |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
So now that Dawkins is gone, the following will happen...
a.) McNabb will go to the media and say something really stupid b.) McNabb will publicly throw the Iggles front office under the bus c.) McNabb will publicly criticize Dawkins d.) All of the above |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
Eagles apparently just traded Lito Sheppard to the Jets (who re-signed Brandon Moore) for a couple of draft picks.
And I think I heard the Giants signed Boley, or are about to |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
According to the poll, the FO has now made 73% of us seriously happy. That is pretty d*** amazing. My :twocents: Our FO, Dan and Vinny, deserve a nod as the most creative, and exciting FO in the league. I am not saying that they are perfect, but absolutely they try to bring players here who make our team better. Maybe it works, maybe not. But would you really have a FO like Detroit, Philly, Dallas, or Tampa Bay???
:food-smil to all the FO personnel, wherever you are.:food-smil |
