Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
I did not see the 1st half of the Bengals game but when I saw that score 24-10 I was like what the heck. When the 2nd half started we went to work on offense and scored 2 TD's and tied the game up. I'm still pissed at the blown fumble call that called back Josh Wilson's fumble return TD. No way he was down by contact from a Bengals player. That TD would have put us ahead 31-24. Yes we did get the fumble recovery but a fumble recovery and return TD would have gave our defense more confidence. Turns out we had to punt and went down by 14 points. Get rid of these in over their heads replacement REFS. Like the way our team did not quit and played hard until the end. HTTR

Yes, this is true. Alfred Morris is also the truth. So is Pierre Garcon and Hankerson whenever he can hold on to a pass. I wish they would play Dezmon Briscoe. |
Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
Briscoe played, but yeah it'd be nice to see him targeted

I would rather see RG3 get it running than standing in that dangerous pocket. 1. Aaron Rodgers got hit a lot in the pocket Monday night. 2. Romo got put to sleep. 3. Vick got way layed. 4. Schaub lost a piece of ear. 5. Brady is beginning to look like a prize fighter in every post game interview. The pocket is just not a safe place to be so far in the 2012 season. Could it be ref related? |

Was I the only fan who sensed CIN was gonna fake the FG?

Listened to Tony Dungy on 106.5 yesterday talk about how defenses were ahead of offenses at this point. The past year the lockout hurt defenses, but allowed the offenses to still gel during that time. He said the offenses will catch up, and most likely we won't be seeing these types of hits on their franchise QB as the season progresses. |

Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
I thought Kyle's actions were embarrassing.
I don't think playcalling was the problem in the 1st half; I think execution was the problem. We couldn't get anything going in the first half because of several factors. Jordan Black played his role, as did Tyler Polumbus, Hankerson had a 3rd down drop, Griffin's fumble, Morris/Griffin miscommunication on a packaged play read, Aldrick Robinson missing a block on screen pass, Morris missing some holes and Griffin missing some reads both in the passing game(can't confirm without the all 22 tho) and in the option. On the whole the offense isn't the problem. Although, I think its already passed time to transition into the next phase of the offense which imo should be less reliant on read option and more reliant on spread passing. And if this offense is based on Baylor's offense that was also the progression of Baylor's offense. It became less reliant on read option and more spread passing based w/ read option as an important piece but not the driving force. |
I thought his actions were horrible too. Say whatever u want in the tunnel but if you think the game is still live than keep ur ass off the field and your language in check. What kind of example does that set for the players - hope it doesnt result in another bad unsportsman like call
Im surprised how alot of fans are hailing him as some bad ass hero after that. |

Did he or did he not receive a 15 yarder for screaming profanities at the ref on the field? I must be highly confused here. |
Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
Whats going on with Helu? Why did they wait til like 6:23 left in the 4th to finally play him? I actually thought he was going to be our third most dangerous offensive threat right after RG3 and Garcon...

He received a 15 yarder for being on the field, which he was on because everyone on the Bengals were on the field along with the refs believing the game was over and Kyle was trying to get the refs attention and argue that it was not. After the game in the tunnel he screamed the profanities |
Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
Kyle's a goofball for chasing them down the tunnel but in a week where Belichick chased a ref down too...it's all pretty crazy.

They bring the bengals back to the sidelines if necessary Maybe the bengals would have been penalized. If same situation occurs next week im pretty sure he stays off the field no? |
Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
Think about how maddening these scab refs have been for the fans, now imagine what it's like in the heat of battle for the players and coaches. I can't blame people for losing their cool.

Totally agreed. If it was me id be the most heavily fined coach in the league at this point. That being said you have to at this point realize what is going on and keep ur emotions in check when the game is on the line ESPECIALLY because of the idiots calling the game. Ps I still love kyle and think he is doing a great job with the offense. I repeat i am not a ks hater. Lol |

I don't blame either of them, as much as I dislike Belichick. The ref wouldn't respond to him calling the ref several times...wouldn't talk or provide an explanation. Belichick grabbed his arm to talk to him...he didn't sucker punch him. Kyle has the right to be steamed too...two weeks in a row of dirty hits not being called on his QB, pass interference being ignored completely...it's unacceptable. |

While what Kyle did was after the game and maybe a result of frustration, I worry about the repercussions of what Belicheck did by grabbing the ref on the field of play. The refs have had a difficult time to say the least maintaining control of a game and being grabbed like that only conveys their lack of control to the players. |

It's a good point. Refs have lost the confidence of both players and coaches. Won't be surprised if we see some pretty shocking things happen this weekend. |

Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
Getting back on track with this thread, I don't care that the defense was ranked reasonably for the whole of last year.
Our opponents have scored 30+ points in all but 1 of our 8 last regular season games. (In our last 5 games last year, only the Giants failed to score 30 points, 3 scored 34 each, and 1 scored 33.) It's the defense that's broken. Our offense is getting the job done. It reminds me of the days before George Allen where Sonny directed a great offense but the defense would always give away a lead. I'm looking forward to 2 years from now when they have money to work with (post cap-hit Mara crap) and we will be able to complement our current offense with a reasonable defense. |

You know how those last couple of days before you go on vacation can sometimes be the best part. Your walking around happy with anticipation and tying up loose ends. Well being a Redskins fan is like being in a perpetual state of pre-vacacation. Once the vacation starts you know its going to end. So be happy and enjoy your perpetual state of pre-vacation. |
Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
With RG3 on board it feels like we're closer than ever before. Imagine him in 2-3 years? Wow.
|
Rg3 is keeping me sane at this point. I look forward to watching him play so much during the week i almost am not paying attention to our record rite now. Im confident in victory because of a rookie every week. Its pretty awesome.

Looking at the roster it really shouldn't take that long. Offensively we need a starting caliber RT and at least one more backup OT. A proven playmaker at WR would be nice but likely not in the cards because we guaranteed so much to Garcon. Defensively, we are are a few players away from being "there" whether we stayed in the 3-4 or switched back to the 4-3. I think a good (not even great) off-season could put us there. However, the big ? is talent evaluation by this FO. This IS Mike's roster. We're three years in and only have one starting caliber OT (who's hurt right now) and a defense that's vastly inferior to the one he inherited. Those facts are on the regime and nobody else. How much faith can you have they're gonna figure it out in the 4th year? |
Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
Roster move: David Jones is back, know they've been wanting him back for a while. Surprised he even was cut originally
Don't know who was let go to make room |

I think that is just a sign of how broken this franchise has been since 1992. Granted 1999 and the begining of the Snyder era is the true begning of this team hitting bottom. Shanahan clearly owns this current mess, not a big fan of his, and I think the nepotism of having his son as OC, is problematic. As a father there is no way that could objectively judge my own sons if they worked for me. But beyond the nepotism Shanahan owns the following blunders: McNubb trade, I "stake my reputation" on Beck/Grossman and the failure to address the offensive line and secondary. It is truly mind boggling how many ex-Redskins go to other teams and then perform at a higher level. Chris Clemons at Seatle being the latest example with his 4 sack game, granted he bounced from the Skins to Oakland, to Philly, to finally Seatle, but seems this is a consistent story line. In my mind it is a symptom of an overall organizational/culture problem within the franchise. Been a fan of this team for a long time, and that loyalty is not going to change, I guess the biggest problem are the childhood memories of when this team was good, and now twenty years of suck. My biggest hope is that RG3 is able to turn this franchise around. I am becoming very sceptical that Shanahan is the one to guide this team and RG3. I think they way they are using RG3 is very reckless and will cost the franchise long term, they need to let him, throw the damn football! The kid is a phenomenal talent and it is going to be a bitter pill of the Shananigan duo, messes him up trying to win a couple more games on a season in which it is obvious that this team is no where near being ready to contend for a division title or the playoffs. I almost cringe at thinking what is going to happen when the likes of Dallas, NY, and Philly defenses t-off on RG3 with the incredibly porous o-line. Rant off. |

So many flaws with that post, but whatever. To each their own. Hail to the Redskins

Really? I couldn't find a single one, though admittedly I don't really think about the pre-Snyder era much. But other than that is there anything from the post you can honestly refute with factual evidence? |

Oh, come on! How can you be serious? He went to how many teams before he stabilized and had one good game? The Skins are finally getting where they need to be and people are complaining about the the Shanahan's? :Smoker: |
