Just saw this on another forum: The KC Chiefs have not won a game with a QB they drafted since 1987 (Todd Blackledge won one game in 87, was drafted in '83).

The raiders are going to be playing for the Jadaveon Clowney sweepstakes. All that dead money and little talent. Its hard to imagine that a team could have been run worse than what Vinny could do. Yet the raiders proved it was possible.

They'll probably tank just so they get Clowney. Adding him, and then with all the cap space they'll have, they'll probably be much better next season. Especially if they draft well.

Eagles cut DT Antonio Dixon. Wasn't he a guy that caused uproar when we didn't keep him, and the Eagles picked him up before we could put him on the practice squad?

people hype preseaon players WAY too much.

where's cult brennan? chase daniels? all the other preseason must have players over the years?

too much hype from watching bottom rung possible nfl players do well against unemployed college players.



that said, going 0-fer is very very hard. oakland might have a shot, but it's really difficult not to accidentally win one.

Why would the Bills put Kolb on IR? If a concussion knocks him out for the year, what future does he have in the NFL? Why not just cut him?

The Bills need to snatch up Tebow. Although if they feel confident going with an undrafted free agent vs. Tebow that says a lot about his competence as a QB.

Cant cut an injured player. If it is deemed he would be gone for the year anyway, there is no injury settlement to be had so they would have to pay his full salary this year anyways. Cutting him would accelerate any remaining signing bonus applied to next year up to this year. Only thing I can think of if they really dont want him anymore.

This goes along with Lotus' point earlier that the Eagles OL is older and several coming back from injuries

@pdomo: Scout on Eagles' OL: "I think they can be really good, but they've got no depth. If they lose 1 of those starters, they're in trouble.''

If he's really so humble, he needs to admit he's not a quarterback, and play a role like Denard Robinson. That's the only way I can see him sticking anywhere. He's just not an NFL caliber quarterback, and he needs to understand that.

Maybe they want to retain his rights if he gets healthy after the season is over. Although with concussion issues I kinda doubt it, if a concussion is serious enough to knock you out for the year I think you'd be better off retiring.

I am very surprised Winfield decided to call it quits. I think theres more to the story, like they didn't want to pay him his money when he got cut, so he's 'retiring'.

From what I have read, he had a 500k signing bonus, and an additional 500k guaranteed unless he played somewhere else. He probably figured he wouldnt sign for anything more than the vet league minimum and figured it was better to make 500k sitting at home than make 8-900k playing. He would really only be making 3-400k more if that is the case.

If I were in the skins front office I would bring him in for 1.5 and cut JW. We would save 500k and not down grade the position. JW is only here for this year anyway, but the team may have the player in mind as well knowing that if they did that it may ruffle some feathers on the defense and not want to risk throwing a wrench in our peacefully locker room.

I just have to believe at this point that Winfield simply does not want to play for the Skins. We have made several efforts to get him and I doubt we lowballed him so the fact that his agent said retiring seems like evidence enough for me to let it go.

That's pretty much where I ended up. Leave it be for now and if we have an injury bring Chase up off the PS (assuming he makes it there but with his injury history it doesn't scare me). We are in good shape without AW and he hasn't played in our system.
