Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
I have no clue what rg3 is doing the first 2 seconds of receiving the snap. He looks lost

Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
Hes making good check downs hes seeing alot of heat. Young running into roberts was awful he mighta went for 6. The exchange was bad but things happen. We knew they had a top toer tier pass rush attacking our garbage oline when we came in. Unless djax or garcon or anybody breaks free what can we do. We had turnovers, they didnt.

Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
I love how people that say if you criticize the team in week 1 you should switch teams. We are criticizing them in week 1 cause they look like complete dog shit again. The Texans suck, and we lost by 11. Literally can't even kick an extra point, get touched without fumbling, or hand the ball off. 2 fumbles in the redzone off the most amateur hour crap you could ever see. We stink and I will say that and I'm no worse a fan than anyone else. We are drafting in the top 5 next year.

Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
Can't turn the ball over like that and expect to WIN.
|
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
Welp, the more things change, the more they stay the same
|
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
Can we now stop fcking hailing rg3 skins fans?
|
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
The Redskins played more sloppy than you would expect an NFL team to look in the first pre season game.

More sloppy than you would expect most NFL teams to look like. |
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
Tyler Polumbus can't block Watt and the team needs to hold into the ball. That's why we lost. Done deal
|
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
Bottom line Redskins beat themselves with mistakes (ST miscues, 2 fumbles in RZ and Rambo in coverage) and OL could not stop JJ Watt (who can?).
|
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
lol team is getting better, still a few players away. Much better then last years team, but still a lot of room for improvement.

What does that have to do with anything. No QB we put behind that line would have done a damn thing. Cousins would have thrown 3 picks |
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
I don't think Griff played great, but he took a lot of nasty hits today.
|
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
He didn't play badly either
|
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
I tired of people saying "we didn't lose because of RG3." We didn't win because of him either.
Too many draft picks, too much hype, for not much on the field. |
I don't think Griff played great, but he took a lot of nasty hits today.
I don't think he was awful but he has a long ways to go. We have the speed at receiver, I don't understand having the guys just run short outs and curls. |
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
Okay, stopped watching before the inevitable, was watching with my father-in-law, and it became apparent this was not going to be a good out come for the Skins. Once the punt was blocked, it was game over. Like many fans, I bought into the hype, that the Skins would beat the Texans, however, much like all of us were excited about going up against a 2-14 team from last year, we are the fellow bottom feeder, that other teams, or at least fans circle as a win. My expectations are muted, that game was very disappointing, the worst part of the lose are, poor special teams play, and again, the secondary giving up the big pass play. It is uncanny, how when a player like Bacarri Rambo is out on the field, the other team manages to exploit him for the ‘big play’, to quote ole’ Norv Turner. Not giving up on the season, but, this was like taking the ice bucket challenge in terms of cooling off expectations.

Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
You cant blame griffin. Polumbus isnt a starter! How about that. Cousins isnt the better option period. Its hilarious sometimes how people cant see the big picture.
|
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
What happens if we lose to the Jags?

Fumble snap, fumble exchange, poor reads at the line and not seeing wide open receivers but not his fault. Rg3 deserves some of the blame |

They had a lot of trouble with the rush today, and weren't able to wait on the longer routes. That's why they ran so many so short routes. Our line doesn't excel at pass pro, and neither do our backs. We do really well moving forward, not backwards. The all 22 stuff, will show more. |

Rg3 deserves some of the blame
Yup, but you also need to blame lichtensteiger for getting pushed backwards and stepping onto Griffins foot... |

U still can run cross, picks, and quick slant. I didn't see it |

Rg3 deserves some of the blame
It was unfortunate. Alot in that game. Very unlucky draw today. |
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
RG3 deserves his share of the blame. But he didn't lose the game on his own.

I saw Garcon run by a pick from Roberts. No quick slants though, and Griffin missed a few guys open on some crossing routes. I didn't say he had a "great" game. |
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
I'm guessing Cooley is probably going to give him a B grade tomorrow on the radio, we need an A to win games though.

Rg3 deserves some of the blame
not throwing the ball away, taking bad sacks, no pocket presence whatsoever i had high hopes coming into the season for griffin. he played very, very poorly. |

I think you nail it with this bottom line statement. But the skins offensive game plan didnt do enough in enough areas to win regardless. |
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
I like Gruden, think he is gonna be good, but probably needs a little time also.

Missing Reed (guy is crystal glass) didn't help. |
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
This teams going 5-11 at best. With that will come the question of whether we draft a qb, and if Gruden is a capable coach. Get ready folks. Its going to be a long season and longer off season. Buckle up! Lol
