I am not saying it is not true, but does anybody find it odd that Ed Werner is the one reporting this? The Cowboys beat reporter is reporting on a source close to the redskins.

Ed Werder ✔@Edwerderespn
One #NFL source who knows #Washington GM Scot McCloughan well says he's determined to change team culture and must move on from @RGIII
11:03 AM - 29 Aug 2015

Love when reporters give purposefully vague second hand 'reports'.

'and he must move on from Griffin'
It is left unclear whether it's the sources opinion or the Scott's opinion that Scott must move on from Griffin.

Everyone says Scott is an above the board straight shooter. If he wanted to move on from Griffin there are more direct (and less messy) and effective means then this...

I agree Ed Werner is generally solid, but there have been a few times he has reported something about the Redskins that wasn't true.

If there's drama and articles written about Cousins INT's I can handle that. At least they're writing about his actual play.

I'm sick of the whole "It's not the grind, it's the find" kind of stuff. The added slogans and mantras a below-average quarterback back should NOT be making.

Re: Robert Griffin III ready to turn career around with Redskins in 2015

The new GM will want a QB of his own choosing.

None of them are on this roster. He'll draft one eventually but for now will make do.

Personally, I think you run the ball and hope Kirk cuts back on the interceptions. Whatever happens, the rejuvenation of the Redskins is a long term project. Building blocks such as Scherff, Jones, Galette, Smith will be put in place with more to follow in the future. Don't believe that RG3 is part of the solution in his eyes.

@dcsportsbog: Consecutive analysts on the Redskins official pregame radio show have speculated about RGIII getting cut before week one

sdskinsfan2001 08-29-2015 05:57 PM

Re: Robert Griffin III ready to turn career around with Redskins in 2015

Kirk Cousins said:

"You're going to throw picks," Cousins said. "It's, can you come back? I want to come back better. You're going to get in situations that are tough. To make quick decisions and get rid of the ball and avoid sacks, you're going to have times where you get rid of it quickly to avoid a sack and you saw the play wrong."

If RG3 said this the media would say, wow he just threw his o-linemen under the bus and blamed it on the o-line, trying to avoid sacks. I've seen plenty of Cousins picks that had nothing to do with blocking. And his comment was innocent, and its 99% likely that wasn't his meaning, but everything Bob says, gets twisted to mean the most worst explanation possible.

RG3 deserves a lot of criticism (I do too in my own life), but the situation he is in is destined for failure. I want him to be the QB, as I think he is better than KC, but it just doesn't seem realistic (HERE). He says stuff that is un-necessary, and even when he makes a normal comment it gets all twisted out of proportion.

Too bad. 2012 regular season was still awesome!

LOL, linemen are actually supposed to be assholes, to the other team! It's a fine line they tow. Linemen on both sides of scrimmage have a right to be angry, that stuff is hard! And yes, the money is nice, thats why they do it, but during the practices/games you know they're miserable. (I also am miserable at work, but I do need to eat dinner and put a roof over my head, so I go 5 days a week, 4.5 during football season lol)

I feel bad for rg3. One whatever is going on w his brain is scary. When they compared his baseline test results from before preseason to this weeks test, there had to be some variance that the neuropsychologist saw that triggered this reversal of clearance. I'm guessing he passed the physical eval but when they compared his neuro diagnostic testing to his baseline things were found. That would explain the delay an reversal imo.
Second I wish this was just a football decision an the skins made a clear statement that they were starting Kirk week one.
Bad all around.

I unfortunately have a lot of experience with concussions, in fact I have one now from hitting my head on the boom of an engine hoist. Never got a concussion from football or boxing just a host of mishaps. The more you get them the easier it is to get the next one, also quite often symptoms can improve and then turn around and get worse. Each one is different from recovery time to symptoms. You can think you are symptom free then something lets you know you are not. It is quite possible RG3 appeared fine
and then regressed.

Some are saying that either SM is getting fired or they are going to fire Jay Gruden. It is supposedly has nothing to do with the QB situation. Those reports still say that Snyder is insistent upon RG3 starting no matter what, unless the concussion / other injury keeps him out

I think this backs up the rumors i heard.

SM and JG want to get rid of RG3 - Dan Snyder tells them that they either play him or they will be fired. Not so hard to believe.

RG3 the coach killer stays in Washington - JG, and SM fired - Snyder takes control of the team for the rest of the season until another GM and HC is hired. Totally believable IMO

In the end, he works for ESPN. ESPN is in the entertainment business, not the truth business. And with the Redskins especially, truth doesn't matter. The narrative is out there that Washington is a dysfunctional circus(not saying that's not true to some degree), so any report that supports that narrative is automatically assumed to be true by the vast majority of people. Schefter and Diana and whoever else could have easily pulled these reports out of their ass and reported it as coming from a "source" because even if they're wrong no one will remember.

SolidSnake84 08-30-2015 06:30 PM

Re: Robert Griffin III ready to turn career around with Redskins in 2015

It's not impossible. How else could that conversation go?

The football people like JG and company tell Dan Snyder they don't beleive they can win with RG3, etc... Scott M tells him they want to move on from RG3, etc..

Dan Snyder tells them no way - that they will play RG3 and that's that.

JG and SM resist - and Dan threatens them with their jobs.

Do you really think either of those guys will stand up to Snyder?

The only thing I can't understand is why Snyder hires people to make the football decisions, yet only ends up making those decisions himself, then fires the people after said decisions don't work out, eg a 3-13 record, etc...
