Side note: You are more mature than SD who I recently found out was one of the 5 remaining people in the US to still watch sports at Hooters
Lol. Meany-head! I don't have cable and it's the only sports bar near where I live. And that place was packed last night. Definitely more than 5 people there. That's probably the best Hooters in the country, so the scenery is also fantastic. |

One of the managers was wearing a Dodgers hat. And he started a let's go Dodgers chant in the bar. That bastard! Me and 2 other guys sitting across the bar from me seemed to be the only 3 people rooting for the Braves. But it's pretty cool when you win. A loss would have been very very un-enjoyable. |

Their bacon-wrapped wings are enjoyable in small doses too. |
Not all of us!
Htown feel free to be upset at me, but I'd rather the Braves win than the Astros. There wasn't a single player punished for a team-wide cheating scandal, you got off easy on that one. Cheaters shouldn't be rewarded. The worst part is you didn't even need to cheat - the squad is talented regardless. |
Re: MLB thread
Braves all the way, and that's coming from a Mets fan. Fuck the Astros.

Fractured leg. Done for the year. Fucking sports man. Down to 2 starters we can actually use. Gonna be tough to win 3 more games. Astros lineup is unreal. So deep. |

Re: MLB thread
I cant fucking stand the fucking Astros. They cheated so fuckin bad. They should have been disbanded. Braves just scored a run. Fuck u cunt Astros. What a stupid fuckin name. At least bring back the old jerseys. Fuckin cunts.

Jamf are you a dodgers fan? I def think what happened to the Dodgers was crazy in 2017. With this Braves run I’ve been thinking a lot about Hank Aaron and his recent passing and Hank thought those Astros players directly involved in the cheating should have been banned from baseball. |
Re: MLB thread
Losing today will be torture.
A. Because GA sports are "cursed" and I'll start to get that sinking feeling; B. Would be way more cool to win at home; C. It will seem like forever to get to Tuesday. |

The worst part is you didn't even need to cheat - the squad is talented regardless.
No problem. If the skins got caught cheating and the NFL didn’t punish us would you give up on skins? No,you wouldn’t.It’s not the players fault that MLB didn’t punish them to what you think is appropriate, and I don’t think it would’ve mattered anyway if the players were punished , people would still hate them. I’ve said it before and I’m going to keep saying it,other teams were cheating,Astros just got caught. Carlos Beltran brought the cheating with him from the Yankees. “TAMPA — After Carlos Beltran denied to The Post last year he was even aware of a center-field camera — let alone illegal sign-stealing — in Houston in 2017, a new report has emerged claiming that Beltran not only knew of the illegal scheme, but was a key figure in orchestrating and maintaining it throughout the season. According to a report Tuesday in The Athletic, Beltran was the ringleader when it came to the scheme and ignored the protests of some coaches and teammates. Beltran joined the Astros before the 2017 season after spending the previous three years with the Yankees. According to The Athletic, when Beltran got to Houston, he told the organization its sign-stealing methods were “behind the times.” And even when other players — including former Yankees teammate Brian McCann — advised Beltran to put a stop to the cheating, Beltran refused, the report claims. “He disregarded it and steamrolled everybody,” one of the team members alleged. “Where do you go if you’re a young, impressionable player with the Astros and this guy says, ‘We’re doing this’? What do you do?” It’s going to take an amazing comeback for them now,I don’t think they are going to pull it out so all you guys will be happy. I frickin love Jose Altuve, amazing how good he is and dude’s practically a midget, and you can believe what you want but I don’t believe he would have willingly went along with it. You watch him and Freid pitch…they don’t have super overwhelming stuff, but just have veteran savvy in their approach. It’s all about coaching and good farm advice. They have several other guys too…Wright, Davidson, Soroka, Ynoa, Muller…all with a future. I look at Orgs like Texas and Baltimore and think how come they can’t set something up like this. I think people get lost in finding aces. You need a core group. Morton is a perfect veteran to lead that group |

Re: MLB thread
In baseball, it all starts with pitching
And you need it starting, middle and closing. Nothing pisses me off more than a bad bullpen when you can’t keep leads |

Problem for the Nats is they won their WS with basically only 2 quality bullpen guys. We were trotting 43 year old Fernando Rodney out in the 7th that year. It wasn't a big deal because we won the WS, but it's another hole that has to be filled today - in addition to our starting staff being underwhelming. |

Parade down here is incredible! So happy for our Braves! If only they could have wrapped it up here in ATL to see the Commissioner get booed even louder than in H-Town! How’d taking away our All-Star game work out for ya?? Chop on Braves fans, chop on!!
In baseball, it all starts with pitching
And you need it starting, middle and closing. Nothing pisses me off more than a bad bullpen when you can’t keep leads
As a Yankee fan this is my biggest problem with Cashman. Ever since Mo retired we have done nothing except sign guys that hit 210 with 30 hr’s and no element of speed or fielding to go along with it. Like if your an older limping guy that ever had a multiple hr game in the majors you have a job with the Yankees. We have 72 players with pop. For the love of God address the pitching staff. Not just one big splash in the starting rotation but quality guys throughout. We do not need another god damn hr hitter. Look for defense and average if you wanna address the lineup. Than Judge can move back out of the two spot. Lets get some guys on base for Judge and Stanton for Christs sake. They are your cornerstones. You get guys on base with them batting 3 and 4 and the lineup is lethal. Stop wasting them with sub par pitching and bad batting orders - fuckin boone has no idea. Buck would retool this team in one year by doing these simple things. Problem is he will give a big fuck u to Cashman and the analytics assholes so we extended yes nan Boone. [emoji1750] Oh and make Sevy the closer. Guy came back and was lights out in relief. Avoid further injury and lock up the closer role for ten years. Sevy can be the next Mo. |
