All these laces will offer you part time if you are lucky. Then you have to get lucky finding another part time job whose hours will harmonize with your other part time job.

America has failed her. She would be in a homeless shelter if I dont pay about 2.5k every month for her apartment, food, utilities etc.

Dumb was giving people extra money and incentivizing folks not to return to work...in no world does this make any sense.

I think the most important is getting the money to small business affected and people directly affected in service industries. I’d say get the money to the states and let them parse it with federal oversight.

Unemployment is for when you're out of a job , if you are called back and don't go,the Company is to contact unemployment and your money stops becuase you quit .It's simple ...you can not choose to stay out of work and still get unemployment ,if they are ....that's on the state.

Not true . I worked for Giant for 31 years . I know the Union that represents the stores .What you're describing fell under the contract people had maybe 15-20 years ago.

No one is "just pulling carts"(at Giant) and is making $20 and hour and if they are pulling carts they are part time. Many if not all the Giant associates got "Covid pay" for a while . Yet even if they did why is it that you think they are unworthy of making $20 hrs an hour ?


As for your Ex , all I can say is if she wants a ful ltime job she has to earn it. Giant has been begging for people but all jobs are starting at part time and you work your way up to the Full time positions.Been that way atr Giant and Safeway for years.

She just got her drivers license, taking an online pharmacy tech program. She is putting on weight, she went from doctors giving her 1 year to live to now being super healthy.

i think it's time we accept as a nation that our way of life has permanently changed. Everything we remember from "before", is just that. Before our lives were all changed.

Dr. Fauci has doubled down in recent days, making clear that his opinion is that a vaccine WILL NOT end the pandemic, and even with Americans being vaccinated, we cannot abandon the public health measures and restrictions. He has said numerous times that we cannot, and should not, go back to living like we did before.

Couple that with state governors who will lock things down / restrict indefinitely, i think we can all safely say that the life we lived before will now be just a memory.

Life will go on as it always has, but it will be different. I read an article about how Americans fought against seat belts for so long, before eventually relenting. Permanent use of masks, home-school, working from home, and avoiding public places i believe will be the life of a USA citizen for the rest of our lives. At some point, people may no longer leave their homes anymore at all, because of fear of the virus.

I think the sooner we process that, we can begin healing as a country. Sports will go on, but if a football team builds a new stadium, it might only have capacity for 10K people. Not 80K people. Concerts, amusement parks, and large gatherings is something that will be in the past forever. At some point, Public School will move to all online forever. Joe Biden is going to have to wrestle with all of this, and I hope that he is prepared that his country a year from now will look a lot more like North Korea as far as citizens not moving around / doing stuff, because of fear, etc.. I'm not saying we will be like NK because of communism, just want to make that clear.

Wisconsin is now reporting more daily new infections than Florida, according to the news organization.

All states in the Midwest -- except Ohio -- have reported more cases in the past month when compared to the prior four weeks.

An increase in testing could explain why cases are increasing, however, hospitalizations have also surged in the Midwest, which isn't influenced by how many tests are performed.
