If im not mistaken, the cards base defense is a 4-3, although they do alot more 3-4 too. they brought in alot of versitile players the past year to be flexible.
Yeah, that's what I thought. This link suggests the same. CBS Sportsline's team capsules have their base defensive alignments: Arizona Cardinals | NFL at CBSSports.com |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
Leroy Hill and Dunta Robinson both just got franchised, apparently Nnamdi Asomugha is close to a 2-3 year deal with Oakland, and Jordan Gross is wrapping up a new 6 year deal with Carolina. All of this per PFT and ESPN.

I cant think of a single defensive player who would be considered in the top 5 at their position and only a couple who could be considered top 15. |

Well, I would say Darnell Dockett, Adrian Wilson, and Karlos Dansby are all top 10 at their positions for sure. And Rogers-Cromartie is definitely a star on the rise. I heard Wisenhunt didn't really get along too well with Clancy Pendergrast (sp?). |

Dockett had one strong year and thats it. hes certainly better than all our our tackles, but thats not saying much. Adrian Wilson is definitely top 10... dansby maybe, but there are alot of OLBs in the league... its kind of hard for me to rank them in my mind. I guess Wisenhut has the right to pick who he wants on his staff, but unless they get the LB coach from Pittsburg, i dont expect their defense to be nearly as good in 09. |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
Lets slap the franchise tag on Montgomery or Golston, hell throw it on Doughty. I want to feel good about a player on our team not being able to leave. I am sick of all these teams using this to keep players, when we just give them all life time contracts.

Peppers just got tagged

Re: 2009 Free Agents
The Saints are not going to tagged their FAs. I didn't see Vilma in this article, does anyone know if he re-signed with NO?

Re: 2009 Free Agents
This is interesting, I wonder what team will go after him...maybe a trade between NE and Carolina (Cassel for Peppers). I know player for player trades are rare in the NFL, but I could see this happening.

Re: 2009 Free Agents
3 years, $45 million for Asomugha. $26 million guaranteed.

Re: 2009 Free Agents

Damn, any chance we can get that hometown discount from Hall? Huh? Any takers? LOL. |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
My guess is by Wednesday (maybe Thursday), the Redskins re-sign Hall at a price for about 6 years, $44 million and $14 million guaranteed. Total guess. Either way, I think we'll keep him.
