Re: Drama in Oakland, according to PFT, that is
We know this story...
He'll probably get traded this time to Buffalo for a conditional 7th round pick for the 2019 season. In which case the Bills will sign Jeff Garcia, draft Locker in the 1st round and have these 3 QB's on there roster for 2011. But JC will get automatically told to the press, that JC is their starting QB by Chan Gailey. That they know he has the skills and doesn't need to prove anything to anyone.... There's just no need for JC to earn the starting spot for the Bills.... Isn't that the story we have here...? lol |
Truer words had never been spoken.
I said it last year. Jason Campbell was the only quarterback in the NFL that didnt have to work for his job. Jason was the anointed starter here since 2006, and no matter how poorly he played, he never had to worry about replacement. Fans got the taste that he was contributing to the team's woes when Collins played lights out in 07. No way a 5-6 skins team led by Campbell would've made the playoffs. Jason would have finished 6-10 or maybe even 5-11! Now he figures he can do the same shit in Oakland, just walk in and be the starter, not having to earn anything, or work for anything. Gradkowski deserves this job. Not only is he the better player, but he earned the job. Jason never did anything but show up and expect everything.
Really? So I guess Manning, Brady, Brees, etc. were all fighting for jobs last year? |
Re: Drama in Oakland, according to PFT, that is
I'm not suprised seeing as though he didn't want to stick around at workouts after we traded for Donovan. If it's true that he said that Gradkowski asked for playing time then hell, you came in and thought you were going to just waltz in and take his job. Of course he's gonna fight for it. Jason underperformed but he doesn't have the emotional attatchment to that fan base as he did with ours. So there aren't going to be that many folks in the media or in the public that will defend him. Bruce had the team going in an alright direction last year, Hue saw what Jason had to offer. As I've said many times before, the tape doesn't lie !
That's a really good point. I'm one of those that was attached to him because Gibbs drafted him, he was the qb of the future & he is a likable media figure, though not dynamic in the least. I'd also watched him beat my Hokies in the sugar bowl in 04-5 & thought he was pretty composed as a leader. Now as you said, he's got to start over, but the catch is that they expected him to be a starter from day 1 & play like their qb of the future. Well, either the future has been delayed or Gradkowski is their future. |

I dont think i made a clear enough point. The QB's you named above all had earned their jobs through their play, and were clearly the best option for their respective teams. Jason never did that, he never had to do that. Nobody made him prove anything. They just gave him the starting job... When I said Jason didnt have to earn his job, i meant that even in 2006 when he was unproven, he just was thrust into the lineup, and its like somebody told him "Jason, no matter what, no matter how poor you play, you will never have to worry about being benched". Brunell: outplayed Campbell (playoffs) Collins: outplayed Campbell (playoffs) It took a new GM, and a new coach to realize that Cambell wasnt the teams best option. And as soon as a new QB was brought in, Jason sulked, wouldnt talk to the media, wouldn't workout, etc... Now hes doing the same thing in Oakland.... |
Re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
JC was a rookie in 2005 when Brunell took us to the playoffs, the job was clearly Brunell's that year. JC wasn't even active most of the season if I remember right. So saying MB outplayed him really isn't saying much.
This is all beyond silly right now anyway. Why are we still talking about this guy? Anyone? |
Re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
Campbell is the worst type of QB a franchise can get. He is good enough to make you believe but not good enough to actually delivery that belief. So what ends up happening is that type of QB ends up setting a franchise back many years and frustrates everyone. Happens all the time and it is why in football that is the hardest position to fill.
Basically he is mediocre. I like the guy and I cheered for him when he was here but now that he has moved on I wish him the best and really don't expect him to do much. |
Re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
He is pathetic. I am so glad we got rid of his ass.

Re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
I guess people just want to see him fail so we can sit back and rejoice that we let him go. He seems to be a class act and I'd like to see him succeed and who cares because we have moved on.

You realize you sound like a jilt fat girl at Dunkn Donuts talking about the guy she asked to the prom but shockingly he said NO! |
Re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
Why do people say he is a class act?
Has anyone EVER heard him say...I need to play better or I was having trouble with the blitzes or I struggled and will bounce back next week or anything with I in it? It's either We....or they... The guy has never shown me any kind of leadership to any degree! Leadership requires responsibility and accountability. If he's not blaming his O-line,Wr's or even his unfortunate position of being a black man and how it's not fair,he's dumbfounded for being yanked in a half for throwing a pick and fumbling twice or vice versa like he did against Oakland. Look, people get sick of Brett Favre for all the pampering he gets and the excuses made for him for throwing late game ending drive INT's that lose him games...But at least the dude has done something in this League and has proved time after time, that he can win games as he has broken every record... Jason Campbell hasn't done Squat and gets this same treatment... Some people say Brett is very arrogant and doesn't take blame on himself either...(I don't agree, but it's out there) This may or may not be true...but at least Brett has won something in this League. Jason Campbell pretends to have brett favre stardom and expects to be a Starter with his piss poor performances....He doesn't even acknowledge he's sucking!! He's either too arrogant to see that or he's too stupid to realize that! But I'm really tired of the "jason campbell" is the Victim here. Fact is.....If he didn't suck as bad as he does,he wouldn't have to learn system after system after system... He sucks and he's a coach killer and relies on his late 4th QTR passer rating from checking down, for coaches to see, that maybe they can do something with him. You want to feel sorry for a Black QB who's got no respect for his entire career and has proven he can get it done time after time after time and gets the blame for everything? Look no further than our very own Donovan Mcnabb!!! A true leader and winner!! |

Re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
I have a question...
Why is it important for us to see him succeed? Is it because he's a former redskins? I sure haven't heard anything on Chase Daniel and people hoping he does well with the saints....Or Patrick Ramsey....or Brunell? Do you guys wish them success? How about David Akers...he's a former skin? Do you want him to succeed? How about Antonio Pierce? Were you guys on his bandwagoon for his success with the giants?(before retiring) How about Albert Haynesworth? He's on the team and people are dogging him? How do you know he's not a nice guy? Do you guys know him personally? The point I'm trying to make is.... We don't care how nice he is? He's not a Redskin We were bitching for years to dump him and were bashed for this opinion. And now that we've been proven right,we are glad that Shanahan made the decision he made. 5 years he was on this team and was given excuse after excuse, when many of us Skins fans KNEW he sucked... Fortunately, our new coach saw this as well! And we are enjoying every minute of it!! Just like the eagles are praying for failure on McNabb... Why should we want jason campbell,to be a great player? I want to know, how great a decision my Head Coach made in dumping his sorry ass... And I'm feeling pretty good about that right now! I could care less how good he does somewhere else... I want Mcnabb to play well and the rest of the team! That's all I care about on who PLAYS well! Don't give us a hard time if you stupid shits have JC on your fantasy team... |
