I saw Ruhskins post a pic of this earlier. What happened on this play? It didn't look like he was hit in the above sequence.
That would be trash talking Johnny couldn't handle. |

Not Eagles or Raiders fans. |
Oh I think we'll see it, just when it's more obvious. There's no way they can keep tossing 20 flags a game. In the regular season you have to let them play.
they showed a graphic on the screen last night showing preseason penalties vs regular season penalties over the past 10 years . . . pretty consistent each year that in the regular season there was an average of 1 to 1.5 less penalties calle per game . . . last year there were approx 13.5 called per game in the preseason and 12.5 called per game in the regular season . . . and for the last 10 years the average has gone up from approx 10 per game in the preseason to 13.5, then to almost 19 this year . . . somethings got to give or this is going to be hard to watch |
Re: Gameday Thread: Browns vs. Redskins
After watching the Browns game, I am concerned that RGIII might never "get it" and learn to protect himself on the run. As of today, unless this behavior of his changes, I expect him to be injured again this season while running and failing to get out of bounds or to slide in time to avoid a hit.
I'm sure that Robert understands the need to fix this problem on an intellectual level. But I suspect that what he does now is deeply ingrained in him and it has only become a behavioral problem now that he is in the NFL where he is competing against better athletes than he faced in college. Nevertheless, his behavior needs to change immediately if there is to be any hope of his playing a full season. The Redskins coaching staff has failing to communicate to Robert the importance of protecting himself. Verbal communication hasn't worked. So now I think the staff needs to address this problem by replacing his current behavior with another learned behavior. To be specific, I think they should create special drills for him to practice exactly when to get out of bounds and when and how to slide. They should make him practice this over and over and correct him whenever he fails to adequately protect himself or slide properly during a drill. This needs to be a high priority and the staff needs to keep doing these drills until his behavior changes. I'm serious about this. It is a major issue for Robert, this team, and the franchise. The coaching staff must teach him through repetition that the time for him to get out of bounds or slide is sooner than he is currently doing it.
breaking a bad habit is about dedication, focus and repetition . . . i think the coaching staff needs to take 20 minutes per practice and have defenders barrel down on him from different angles at full speed to get him to slide or get our of bounce, first on time, second properly . . . |
Re: Gameday Thread: Browns vs. Redskins
Hes not gonna slide. I think we have to all realize that Griffin is going to literally play until the wheels fall off. He has a switch that has one speed. We saw it. Preseason couldn't slow down he just was gone.
So lets just rout for him and let him play his way until that happens. That's why Kirk is there. They'll do his best to make him slide but hes not a slow Tom Brady that can slide easy. Do this for me... go JOG and then slide... now SPRINT and then slide. Youll notice a difference. |

tbh im worried more about the route Haden undercut. Today its the slide factor. He scrambles.. I keep saying that. he likes just going, lets let him do what he does. Emphasis it a little more in practice but lets not take away from his actual throwing and desicison making drills. We have Kirk backing him up.. Hes more accurate than the long list of scramblers behind him and that's why were sad he wont slide I know. |
Re: Gameday Thread: Browns vs. Redskins
You know, RG3 wasnt getting any help from the right side of the line last night. Those f*cks were taking turns letting guys blow them up. If it wasnt Polumbus, it was Chester getting beat, if it wasnt Chester, it was Kory L getting pushed into the backfield.
In order to be a pocket passer, you need a pocket first |
Re: Gameday Thread: Browns vs. Redskins
Hoyer was even worse. Atleast Jonny has legs.
Johnny can barely handle calling plays. What the Browns are doing with this supposed competition is kind of a joke. And look at how easy he got rattled with just some simple trash talk. He's clearly out of his league right now and it's only preseason. Teams that game plan and scheme against him will eat him alive. |

Re: Gameday Thread: Browns vs. Redskins
no but theyre really nitpicking. and chicos right what do you expect a dude with his speed to do, the one play bleacher shows that he took off, a defender barely missed him. then on the "4 second" sack play which I counted about 3. something Jordan didn't get out of his dig fast enough browns 1st string secondary top 5 in league imo.

Gameday Thread: Browns vs. Redskins
I'm sorry man, but this is a weak argument. Hoyer is the more experienced QB and can probably give the Browns the better chance to win. Unfortunately, Cleveland is having Hoyer split the reps with Johnny Crybaby, and it's screwing them both. Manziel has a lot to learn and is just not ready to be the starter period. It would serve both players and the team for Hoyer to be the starter and Manziel be the back up for game three. Give Hoyer more reps with the first team and Manziel reps with the second team.
Unless their defense can somehow carry them, I don't see Cleveland winning many games with that mess of a QB situation.
They have a horrible qb situation, but imo manziel gives them the better chance to win. On top of that, they invested alot in him. They arent going to win many games no matter who starts so why not let your future begin now? Hoyer only threw six passes, I get that. However they were six bad ones. Jonny may not have handled the trash talk, but Hoyer cant handle the competition, and it showed. He looked nervous and on edge. Edit : id rather have a kid with a chip on his shoulder who wants to win than a kid thats afraid to lose. Also before I get accused of calling Manziel great, im just saying he is better than Brian Hoyer. Lol |

lol go ahead and start Manziel week 1, say hello to first pick in the draft

Yeah, still think Chester is the weakest link last year in pass protect and I think it showed again last night. I was really thinking he could be a bounce back player for us. And Long last night almost got Cousins killed on one play. So we need to be better there. |
Re: Gameday Thread: Browns vs. Redskins
We could do a lot worse than Polumbus. I'd much rather get Chester outta there first.
