Yeah, after watching Malcolm Kelly, I can honestly say that he's one player Allen would release and not think twice about it.
~~~ Agreed, I think Kelly is gone for sure. I still wonder if the Skins won't get rid of someone they can get quality picks for, a la a Cooley or someone like that. While I like Ganther, we do need a big bruising back to compliment his talents. Of course an Offensive Line would be nice too. |
Re: Redskins -Giants MNF Gameday Thread
Kelly is a waste of roster space. Get a guy from a program that runs the spread or pro style offense.
~~~~ Personally, I think Jason should stick around. The guy has been running for his life this season. Until we begin addressing our offensive line, it does not matter who we bring in, they will get beat down just like Campbell. Who knows what Allen will do, but I think tonight he saw just how much help we need with our line. |
What's he saying? I turned the tv off
He was laughing for a good 30 seconds about the botched trick play at the end of the half and mocking Zorn incessantly. He was laughing at Millen's suggestion that the Redskins would come out and fight the Cowboys. His words weren't particularly outrageous or inflammatory; he just kept going on and on, laughing at the Redskins, scoffing at the notion that they are not as bad as they looked tonight, and seemingly taking joy in ridiculing them. As a Redskins fan, it was just painful to hear a HoF quarterback talk about the Redskins as though they are a total joke. |

I think it's worst that Matt Millen was trying to defend us. |
I just think we need another playmaker on offense. A true weapon.
After the OL is addressed. Its Big Play RB time.
I was thinking about this today. It's pretty simple really -- the top teams in the league right now have dynamic, game-changing playmakers. We have none. Devin Thomas might be a playmaker. Davis might be. Santana Moss has been basically eliminated by opposing defenses this year. That's about it -- nothing proven, just high hopes for a player or two here and there. With an offensive line worth a crap, I guess you could say we'd be better, but I still don't think there's anyone truly dynamic even with solid O-line play. |

So true. Actually I'm still waiting for Vinny to sign on with ESPN so they can start a segment called "Executive Vice President of Football Operations Corner with Matt Millen and Vinny Cerrato." Today Vinny and Matt debate about how the Rams should use the first overall pick. Matt: Actually Vinny and I agree that they need to draft a reciever with that pick. Vinny: Definitley Matt, as you already know, it's a passing game and recievers are the reason teams win Super Bowls. |

Yeah -- he also said that the Skins need to blow it up and do a complete overhaul, paraphrased. |
Re: Redskins -Giants MNF Gameday Thread
Does any one think this game may have been a test for Jim Zorn. Do you think Bruce Allen gave Zorn the go ahead to call plays the whole game. I think Bruce let Zorn run the team as any way he sees fit. I think Zorn had three games to show Bruce what he was worth and Zorn truelly shit the bed. if the next two games go completely down the drain as this one did, it will most likely be that Bruce gave Zorn enough rope to hang himself.
|
Re: Redskins -Giants MNF Gameday Thread
What if tonights offensive, offense was a result of Bruce Allen giving back the play calling responsibilities to JZ for the final 3 weeks as a fair evaluation period for JZ to blow him away and keep his job.

If this is the case JZ has really cemented the outcome of him being fired. He showed once again his poor game management skills. |

THANK YOU!!!! "elementary school bully" nails it right on the head! he pushes people around but when the whistles blow his finger starts pointing in all different directions. HE is one of the MAIN reasons i hate the giants. |
Re: Redskins -Giants MNF Gameday Thread
For all of the Jim Zorn apologists this horrific display was his signature game.
If I was the owner, I would fire him now and let Gray or Blache be the interim coach. This should have been done when the castrated him earlier in the year. I am sick and tired of seeing him in our colors and he should have been escorted out of the building after the fake field goal. |
Re: Redskins -Giants MNF Gameday Thread
Btw... That officiating during Jacobs' meltdown was pathetic. He had at least 3 separate personal fouls and should have been thrown out for two of them. That being said, Al probably should have been thrown out too.
We need to put a $100,000 bounty on him. I am sick of his BS. Send one of our journeymen straight at his knees in the pile. |

I love how Jacobs says he didn't throw a punch. Funny but I saw him swing at least twice. I'm sure the league will disagree with his take on the situation too.

How about that stat from Jaws last night: 24% of the Redskins passes have been behind the line of scrimmage; 79% within 10 yards. Yay!!...sigh

The guy was pummeling Hall to the ground (reminds me of that non-call on Harrison during last year's Super Bowl, he did the same thing against an AZ defensive back). |

They should fire Zorn and Blache, put old man Sherm as HC, the other Sherman as OC, and Gray as DC. |

Yes, that was a disconcerting stat. Maybe next year we'll have an o-line and discover the joy of midrange or (gasp) even deep throws. |

I am a big critic of Blache but my main goal is getting Zorn out of my sight. He literally disgusts me. I am focusing on who could steer us to the end of the season and give us somewhat of a professional look (which has been lacking during Zorn's entire tenure). Gray probably could too. When they brought Lewis in I called for Bugel. I still think they should do it. Give Buges a couple of games on his farewell tour. He isn't going to be back next year. |
