About $4M |

Thank you, do you see him getting cut or do you think he will be back next year? |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
Cut Moss, re-sign him to a cheaper deal. Dudes play has declined, since he's a slot guy now.
|
Re: 2013 Free Agents
Didn't Moss lead the team in touchdown grabs last year? It would be crazy to cut him.
|
Re: 2013 Free Agents
Given our cap situation, Tana needs to be cut. We'll then need one of our younger WR's to step up and fill his shoes.
|

Understandable point, but how much of that was the fact that we lost Garcon for 6 games and Davis for 9? |

Something needs to be done with his cap #, obviously. A 34 year old slot guy for over $6M? No thanks. If he wants to stick with the team I'm sure they can work it out to get that # down. |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
Cutting Hall saves us $8M. So he and Moss are the obvious big fish for some quick relief. if we cut them both we're about $8M under.
|

Again, I wouldnt mind if they were both cut. |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
we have 3 WRs making 6M+ in 2013. that's a lot of cash at one spot.
|
Re: 2013 Free Agents
Again, I wouldnt mind if they were both cut.
Neither would I. At this point in their careers I doubt either of them wants to start over somewhere else, so I would guess we should be able to work something out with both of them at much lower figures. Otherwise, see ya. |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
Would yall cut Carriker to sign Davis? I think I would.
|
Re: 2013 Free Agents
Would yall cut Carriker to sign Davis? I think I would.
I think he's on the chopping block regardless of what happens with Davis. |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
Would yall cut Carriker to sign Davis? I think I would.
I'm not positive about this, but I'm pretty sure Carriker's deal includes a $1M player buyout option in 2013. So we can cut him but he can also choose to test the open market. Interesting clause considering AC is coming off a season ending injury. |
Again, I wouldnt mind if they were both cut.
But who do we replace hall with? He was our best corner last year and he actually played really good the last few weeks. |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
Hall is far from being irreplaceable.
|

That's true but he's our best corner right now |

OVERALL best CB in the whole division IMO. |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
That's a bold statement.

That is not saying much in the NFC East. Some one getting paid 8 million should be in the top ten at their postion. His salary puts him the top 10 and so he should play like it. He does not. He is replaceable through depth and the draft. There are a lot of corners right now in the draft who could end up developing into a better overall corner than Hall. Man needs to take a significant pay cut or I do not see how the Skins can afford him. |

also a bold-faced lie. |

Talib? Smith? Rookie? Aqua Man?? lol IDK but for 8 million we can find someone. |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
Talibs not an upgrade from Hall. Talib would compliment a hall. We screwed up our money and now we don't have the funds to even carry TWO above average CBS. Talib n hall would be a nice duo. But one for the other wouldn't pay to really help this team.

If you wanna believe that, I am not gonna argue with you. Since I view Hall as an average corner who has the tendency to play great or terribly depending on the day I will say that we don't have one above average corner right now. |

Josh Wilson is an above-average corner. He plays quite well when he is not left hanging by the lack of a pass rush. |

Couldn't you say that about the entire secondary then? |

ummm no. |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
11 days til free agency?
No restructure news? |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
Couldn't you say that about the entire secondary then?
No. For just one example, MWilliams struggles, pass rush or not. IMO Josh Wilson is hands-down our best secondary player. |

I can respect that opinion. I agree that Wilson is our best secondary player but I view him as average as well. |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
Dunta Robinson is being released.
He's 30 years old. Could he be an affordable replacement for Hall? For a couple years anyways...? |

His age is what makes me think he wont be high priced. Either way if Hall is gone we have got to get a good corner on the roster. If thats where the money must go then fine. |

I actually think this is a fairly decent grading of guys available at corner. |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
Salary cap slightly higher than expected, giving us a little more wiggle room. But not much more.

great article, well said. as I said mulitple times this offseason, cut D Hall now. No Free Safety, no restructure. You have numerous above average Corners who will sign 2-3 million a year deal with us the first day of free agency. You also have multiple options in the draft who could start D Hall spot when chosen in the 2nd round. |
