I just tried replacing "Football-Team" with "Commanders" in the url for the New Era team page to see if maybe it would reveal new hats and it points to the existing WFT page.

Just more evidence for those who still need it.

In a vacuum: would you root for a team called the Commanders, owned by a snake like Snyder, or would you root for the Ravens or Panthers or a different team with a better ownership regardless of the name.

It is the legacy of the 80s that I personally have held onto, along with a decade (2001-2010) of defending Snyder for trying to run the team like a fan might. But at this point, it's clear he is not just a bad owner - he is a classless individual. It is further clear by the name choice that he and the organization have a sheep's eye view of the fans. Their rationale of not wanting to subject the fanbase to a protracted trademark battle is sheer bs. This fanbase took the defense of the name Redskins to our very core, and would have likely done so for a trademark battle that was winnable/settleable.

I get that some, maybe most on here are content to see Snyder lead his little ego and commanders down the same road, further deteriorating what was a proud franchise. I simply know that when the name commanders is announced, I will personally do more soul searching if this is the team and ownership that deserves the loyalty I have shown for over 45 years(since I was 8yrs old).

I hear year you I've been a fan since I was in 2'nd grade(I'm 60 now). I will continue to root for them but simple call them Washington or the Redskins. Would love to snyder forced to sell the tram but I don't think that will happen unless more and more crap that congress gets involved with keeps turning up.

Darrell Green was a Washington Redskins.
I watched the Washington Redskins win 3 Super Bowls.

I also am an out of the area fan. I like Philly teams but love the skins...so I think that makes me not an average philly fan. I'm not an idiot. That being said...been a skins fan for 30 years now. Watched them win the big game in 91, and will never be a fan of another team. Regardless of name. I hate the legacy Snyder has made this team.
Most people are capitals fans...but its the same thing I'm watching happen with the flyers. It's really a heartbreaking thing to watch it happen. As a sports fan I follow the skins, flyers, and phillies.
I've had a really rough fo of it since like 2010.

I came across this name theory. It makes sense to me and I could definitely get behind it. Can’t post links yet because my account is new. But it’s on YouTube channel name is ref the district. Video name is what is in a name posted 5 days ago. Talks about how the name could be the Washington legends and the mascot could be the hog. Interesting video.

I'm starting to wish everybody would tune in to the Today Show and then the hosts are like, "we're sorry, due to some technical difficulties we are unable to host Jason Wright/etc. on the show today." And then at some random unannounced time like 10:37 or some shit they just switch the website over so if you go to WashingtonFootballTeam.com it redirects to WashingtonHogFarts.com. No announcement or anything.
