It's very called for, Landry has great talent but he makes me pull my hair out. The taunting tonight was the worst thing he's done so far because it wasn't even an aggressive penalty it was just a really stupid penalty. Very immature, needs to tighten up big time.
Poor choice of words though. I didn't think you meant it personally, but the choice of words could make for a very poor pun. I think that's what he's saying. |

I think it's the reference to dodging a bullet with ST's tragedy so recent. Not Landry's bonehead taunt (again). |
Re: Redskins at Giants game thread
I'm not so sure he meant that in a pun. (I hope not anyway)
Yeah, he definitely didn't, that never even crossed my mind until I read J's reply. He meant Landry is a bonehead who makes stupid penalties that haven't yet cost the team the game (AZ, Chi, NYG). |
Re: Redskins at Giants game thread
not really. no excuse for taunting, and for a moment following the 1st and 10 LaRon gave them, Smoot looked hurt. you didn't gulp? But it didn't turn out that way, just griping, happy we're still in the running with Sean watching over our team.
Dude, wtf? That's un-called for. It's only been a few weeks.
|
Re: Redskins at Giants game thread
I'd lay off landry...he is a rookie and his mentor was killed a few weeks back...he plays incredibly well....you guys are giving him crap for a taunting mistake as if hes was a 5 year vet.
i agree it was dumb...but come on! |
Re: Redskins at Giants game thread
What about Stephon Heyer?
That guy held his own against STRAHAN? With an imoblile 2nd string QB! WOW! |

Re: Redskins at Giants game thread
yeah, I've been pretty disappointed with Landry. He's got so much potential and can make some plays, but he can whiff with the best of them and he needs a major attitude adjustment on the field.
I think he'll grow up, and I think he'll be awesome, but he's going to be pretty well hated if he keeps up all the jack-jawing and blatant late hits... headhunting... helmet to helmet on qbs etc.... |

Re: Redskins at Giants game thread
Dodging a Bullet for Dummies - meaning that the Dummies books are instruction manuals. LaRon could've written the book tonight because his taunting penalty could have given the Giant the boost they needed. it was dumb, but he's not. We still pulled it off, thank god, and Smoot can return eating his Smoot Smack Energy Bars.

Re: Redskins at Giants game thread
I must admit...after the first 8 misses in a row...i was thinking Brunell...I'm glad Im not coach

Re: Redskins at Giants game thread
I thought Landry had a nice night at FS, but for the taunting. You could almost see the angle on Laron's shoulder going "No, Laron, No!" and the devil on the other shoulder going "tell him to F*** off! He's a punk!" and Laron just couldn't resist. It was a monster hit, though.
Heyer had a great game--o-line in general, as folks have said. |

I'm starting to wonder about you tuna. First you wanted to get rid of Samuels, now you're disappointed in Landry? Personally I'm geeked over Landry. He's almost a Taylor clone at free safety and I'd say he's even further along at this point in his career than Taylor was at this point in his. I think he'll definitely mature in time, but I still love his intimidating presence. |
Re: Redskins at Giants game thread
Smoot played great tonight...a lot better than I thought he was than after we picked him up from the Vikes.
He is a decent number 2 corner.... I thought he was a #3 at best...I was wrong. Smoot has some guts! |
