I was hoping SS could shed some light on the situation. SO you think a trade for VJ would not include trading away Kelly, but instead cutting him outright? I would think if we were going to trade for VJ that the Chargers would want Kelly in the hopes that maybe he does better there. I would think it was worth a chance anyway...

Well, I would say this. The only time Kelly was seriously a part of any discussion this past off-season was when the Redskins put him out there in a bid for Brandon Marshall. Broncos weren't interested.

I don't think MK is helping the Redskins out if they're hoping to use him as trade bait for Jackson. If they do go after Jackson, and I've heard mixed things on that, it's probably going to take Devin Thomas.

Could we get San Diego to take a (repackaged) 3-4 DE named Haynesworth for VJ?

Or, since Minny showed some previous interest in AH, maybe pull off a three-way trade?

Honestly, and this just my belief, I don't think we're going to trade for VJ. And I think a big reason why is that the Chargers will not settle for less than something like DT and a 2nd round pick. And Allen will say no.

Gonna cut a 20-something year old WR that is still under his rookie deal entering his third year. But only after ONE weekend of practice with a new coaching staff? The first cutdown day is not untill the 31st of August, 4 full weeks away and after a couple of pre-season games.

That just does not add up. Why even ponder trading picks and players only after a couple of practices?

In defense of the FO, this is not exactly something that is very new. They were looking into aquiring VJ before camp even started. I think they have a pretty good idea about the WR position already and training camp is just reitterating what they already knew.

Not questioning the FO. I'm questioning the SOURCE.

What credible source from the FO has come forward and even mentioning anything related to releasing Kelly and pursuing VJ, or any other WR for that part? Everything has been wrapped around rumor and speculation.

Sure that cant come right out and say they are interested in VJ due to tampering rules, but other than specualtion in the media and rumors on message boards, where does this come from?
