Willing blocker in blitz pickup; has potential to be very good
Didn't take a massive pounding in college
Hard-nosed runner between the tackles
Improved study habits as a junior
Looks durable; backup for two seasons before becoming a starter



Weaknesses:
Will need to continue to improve blitz pickup
Intelligence?

Ezekiel will not be another Trent Richardson.

The run game sucked. Even if Lauvuo is the answer (he left due to injury, run game goes south), I don't trust either Long or AK to step up. If we can get a quality guard at a good price, I wouldn't object. I can see it as not a priority but I wouldn't rule it out.

Center Ben Jones might be a good option. Reportedly Lauvuo's recovery has been slow. He could be cut and be replaced by a FA.

Does anybody know how Kouandjio is doing? I haven't ready any reports on him.

It's the exception when a 4th round draft pick can contribute in game situations in his rookie year.

I don't have any numbers, but from memory, he wasn't active for a lot of games.

From the outside looking in, I don't think we can say he is or isn't going to be good. Only folks inside the organization would know how he is adapting to the pro game at this stage.

Case in point, Morgan Moses. Tom Compton played in front of him last year and this year Moses came in and played extremely well.

Kiper gave us a good grade right after the draft, and he improved the grade after seeing our rookies play this year.

The best part about this, is I remember McCloughan standing at the podium reviewing the draft after the 3-day event concluded. He was asked how he thought he did, and went through espousing the positive traits of each guy, then took a sip of water he cracked a half-smile and said "it's a good group, you'll see."

He knew it all along. He knew going into that draft who was good, who wasn't. And he came away with plenty of his guys.

I just love his level of mastery over the whole thing. You come away KNOWING it's a good group of players, not wondering whether everything will pan out.

I don't think Garcon is anything special and he doesn't play to dollar imo.
Garcon is great after the catch, works hard/blocks...appears like a team guy, locker room guy.

But...Garcon isn't a deep threat, doesn't high point the ball well, doesn't gain great separation, doesn't easily/consistently beat press man without scheme help.

I don't think Kearse is an upgrade. Chop-chop has inconsistent hands and has some of the same issues as Garcon. But Kearse is a deep threat, can high point the ball and should cost much, much less.

I like PG he's a great team guy it appears and he does do the dirty work. Kearse has some upside he played really well this yr.

I'm thinking about dumping my wife. She's a good wife but she doesn't high point the ball well anymore. I'm looking for a new wife who's about the same as my current wife but can highpoint the ball. I hope my new wife will be able to get along with the kids.

I've read through a bit of this thread.

Needs on offense:

I dont look at LG as a need. If you remember early in the year in the two games vs the Rams and Dolphins. We had Lauvo as our LG. He was really showing well this season before he was injured. With all the guys we lost he was one of the biggest. It did allow for Long to get acclimated to laying but Shaun was looking to really have a great year next to Trent. I want to see him back in the mix and with Lebrius and Long now both having a season of work there I see them as a great 1-2 G/C backuo combo.

C is a must though. Both Kory and Josh arent terrible but should not be used as the main starter.

WR- Very interested to see what we do with Garcon and Jackson to see how big the immediate need is. If we can keep both with a restructure or extension then great. I would like to keep both. So drafting a big #1 that can be developed is a good idea.

TE- again here we should be getting reinforcements from IR but we still need a guy here

RB- Jones and Thompson will be back. Young should be back. I would like to see Thomas (brought back) and a young guy brought back in.

other than those areas we are good on offense.

DEFENSE

DL-

LB-

CB-

S-


All are needs on defense.
