On a whim, i search Sliders on Netflixs. It was there. I knocked out about 8 episodes over the weekend. If one day you notice mlmpetert is no longer on this forum, but a new memeber called thecryingman is poking around here, you can make a safe bet that ill be in violation of forum rules w/ 2 usernames.

God I have tired to like the Wire I really have and I live near B-more. I just don't see why folks get so excited about it.

Edit: well they did as of yesterday, looks like it's $19.99 again.

I've watched Dexter since the beginning and it's okay. I thought the first season was great, the 2nd & 4th were pretty good, and the rest were just so-so.

did you ever see The Corner? another B-more hood show. that was tight too...The Wire is same level as the Sopranos, maybe better

It may have already been mentioned in this thread, but did anyone watch Homeland on Showtime? I just watched the whole 1st season OnDemand last week and it's definitely the best new show I've seen in a long time.
Great cast, really good acting and writing, and Claire Danes' character professes to be a huge Redskins fan (it's about the CIA so it mainly takes place in DC) which is a nice bonus. I highly recommend it.

Just started watching Friday Night Lights with Netflix on a whim mainly because I have a crush on Connie Britton dating back to her days on Spin City. Turns out I may have stumbled onto one of the better shows on TV (the 8.6 user rating on IMDB seems to confirm that).

Also nice to see a portrayal of High School Football using players that actually look like they belong in High School, as opposed to the Hollywood versions where players are all at least 6'1 and growing facial hair.

I like it just for the integration with iTunes, and you can stream all your photos. I've gotten into downloading shows more and more, so it's nice to be able to watch them on the TV vs my iPad all the time. Plus it has YouTube.

Not sure if you've ever had this, but I was always having connection issues with the Roku. Sometimes I couldn't get it to connect to my network no matter what, other times it would work just fine. Apple TV just works, I haven't had any problems with it.

Not a single problem with the Roku, though it is ten feet from my dual band N router.

HBO GO is going to be available through Xbox Live this year. I'm pretty excited about this. Unfortunately I have an Android tablet, so I can't get the HBO GO app (damn you Apple).

Anyone watch Alcatraz? I watched the first two hours, it was ok, didn't really pull me in. I was kind of hoping it was going to be good.

I would preferred if it had just been about the prison and the prisoners set in the era they were there vs. this kind of SCI FI twist to it.

Oh man. I absolutely love that show. As a married guy who loves fantasy football, you're in for a fun ride.

All of my favorite shows of the past several years are all either no longer running or on hiatus (Friday Night Lights, 24, Lost, Entourage, Boardwalk Empire, The League, etc etc). Looks like it's time to get into Breaking Bad. Love the Roku and Netflix.
