Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Just something of note...
Carolina has released a DT just now/today. Course, they wouldn't have to do that for a Fat Al/Smith trade, but they would if it's Fat Al for draft picks. But this interesting none-the-less |

Can he play Nose tackle or O-line? |
Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
The only person we need from Carolina is John Fox. Bring him here and put him in charge of the defense in order to kill two birds with one stone (second stone being preventing from working with the Giants as either a HC or DC).

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Any players from Carolina are getting traded for picks and not other players. DeAngelo Williams would be an immediate upgrade from Portis...however still can't run behind a shitty offensive line. I don't know if I would trade for Steve Smith, kinda pointless I would say.

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Car is rebuilding, their not going to even look at AH, what they need to do is see what they can get for Williams and smith now. I remember in preseason when some folks here said Carolina would have a top 10 D.. Peppers was their D, Beason is the only great player on the whole unit and he may not even be great .

Can't blame their D for them not playing well. When you are on the field 35-40 minutes a game as a defense bad shit happens. |

The Best defensive Lineman that ever played the game. Man he sure was off his rocker for even saying that cause he is not even the best lineman in the NFC East right now. I hope AH turns it around and just goes out every Sunday and destroy who ever is playing over him.

Other than goal line defense I haven't seen much of an impact and to be honest I can't tell if it's because he's not putting maximum effort in or if he's honestly getting his ass kicked. |
Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
I'm fine with him being here. I'm kind of getting tired of the "Haynesworth Issue" and not because of Albert himself. Shanny needs to set his ego aside because you can't keep trotting out guys that are not as good as he is while we get gashed. Is he the best ? No, it his first year playing this position but put that effer out there. All of this should've been over after he played the entire 4th preseason game so stop all the bullshit. Put Haynesworth in the game and let that dude get comfortable. We need pressure and the guys that are out there aren't cutting it.

Then he should get a lot of snaps cause teams are gonna be on our goal line all year long in this worthless excuse for a defensive scheme. Hey Coach Blache! I will always defended you!! You cant take our freedom!!!!!!:benched: |
Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
on all this Carolina Panthers stuff, trust me when I say this. They WILL NOT take on a salary like Haynesworth. I live in Charlotte, and all the people are pissed at this organization for going on the cheap. Steve Smith BEGGED & PLEADED the organization to give him some help at WR in the offseason. Said "I will be #2, just give me someone on the opposite side" which we all know they didn't. he was begging the trade for boldin, begging for TO, for Houshmenzadah and the management did absolutely nothing. They will be trading one of the two RB's, but not until the offseason. And Fox will be gone at years end, as well as Marty Herny (GM). We do not want Steve Smith on this team. He is a head case, diva, premadonna what ever else you want to call him. He goes off on the sidelines on whom ever the QB is if they dont get him the ball enough, calls out people all the time, says I am going to get "mines!" If all goes well, then he keeps his mouth shut, he has a lot of fire and gives everything he has, but honestly we dont need his attitude around here.

Monkfan - I have said the exact same thing over the last week. This stuff has to stop, put Haynesworth on the field and let him play. People want to get on his ass because he hasn't done much, well when you are only on the field for 1 or 2 plays every 3 or 4 series it makes it hard to get into the game. Shanny definately is trying to prove a point, and right now Haynesworth being silent and saying all the right things is winning the court of public opinion. that is the way i see it. |

1st thing - he didn't say he was the best lineman ever...he said he wanted to become the best lineman ever. What is wrong with that?? |
Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
I honestly don't think behind the scenes that Shanahan is engaged in this stand off with AH that some seem to think. At this point it's probably up to Haslett as what packages he's playing in, and AH probably just hasn't won his complete trust yet.
Plus with the late start he got in the 3-4 he's just not where he needs to be yet. AH himself just said the transition has been difficult. With the problems we're already having, I'm not sure tossing a guy in there that's not 100% comfortable in what he's doing is really the answer. |
Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
I just wanted to share something with all of you regarding Albert Haynesworth. Everyone is jumping on his ass and calling him this or that or the person you THINK he is. I am not sure if you people here saw the news piece on a guy that had a rare cancer and got to get a VIP walk through of the redskins facility, meet the players, coaches, go through the locker room, meeting rooms, film rooms all that. It was aired probably about a month 1/2 ago on ABC. Kevin Robinson was his name. That is my best friend, and unfortunately he passed about a month ago, not long after that story aired. the point of this post is to let you know AH is honestly a good dude. This was when he wasn't speaking the media, fans or anything and he walked by Kevin and asked if he could have a picture, and AH turned around and said absolutely! Walked over talked to Kevin and his wife for a while. He was the nicest guy he met all day, and he met a ton of the players. Albert said that all the stuff that he goes through means absolutely nothing, that Kevin is an inspiration to a lot of people. I just thought after all the AH bashing, I needed to share that story.

Hell of a story and most of all I am truly sorry to hear about your friend. It seems that he had some good moments on his way out. You'd like to hear more stories like this but there are so many that havent met him and their words are more relieble because they match the rumor mill. As far as his game, I just hope he gets a shot on the field. Matt, I'm with you on not throwing him out there if he isn't quite comfortable but honestly is anyone on this defense comfortable yet ? It doesn't look that way. Hell Haslett himself doesn't seem that comfrotable but this team has to put the best players on the field. I learned how to drive on the road, not it a classroom. You gotta get that man out there. |
Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Well, he did play more last week than we've seen so that should be a good sign. Not sure how many snaps exactly but he did seem to be in there alot.

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
#56Fanatic, my condolences on your friend. And I don't doubt that Haynesworth has good qualities as a human being. As do most other players. From people I've spoken to AH is a good guy
However, as cold as this may sound, that's not an excuse for the decisions he chosen to make as a football player. More importantly, the decisions he chosen to make as a member of our favorite team-the Washington Redskins. He made the adult decision not to attend the OTAs and mini-camps and work out on his own. I've got absolutely no problem with that. But when you do all that, I would expect that he would come ready to pass a standard conditioning test and know the defensive schemes. That's my issue with him. I don't mean to take anything away from what he did for your friend, that was certainly a tremendous gesture. But, Danny Wuerffel was with very little argument the nicest, most genuine Redskin I ever met. Absolutely loved talking to him as a person. As a Skins fan, I didn't want him on the field. |
Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Heart felt condolences to you and yours 56.
Nice story about AH. Good to hear he is a person with a heart. But I have to agree with Smoot on his points as well. |
Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
SS hit it on the head here. I have no doubts AH has a good side to him, but the way he's conducted his business in football matters has been piss poor to say the least.

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
I'm sorry but I don't think AH deserves a medal for talking to this guy or taking a picture with him. It's what all but the most horrible human beings would do in that situation. It doesn't do a thing to change my opinion of haynesworth as a greedy narcissistic individual that doesn't deserve the honor of wearing a redskins uniform.

I wasn't trying to get it to sway your impression of AH. I was just showing that what the perception of most is not always the true meaning of a person. People think TO is an ass. My neighbors daughter has brain cancer and has to go to philly for treatments every so often. TO use to come to the hospital (unannounced) and sit and talk to the kids and the families. My neighbor specifially, he sat in their room for 45 minutes. I think the media has so much to do with influencing peoples perceptions of athletes. Now, some of them are true to what is portrayed, but like AH, TO seems to be a pretty nice dude when the camera's are not on him. AH has been a great guy in the locker room, playing around with the players and guys think he is a pretty cool guy to hang with. Now what he did in the offseason was pretty shitty. But he has come in, has done everything the coaches have asked and put in extra work. He is a dominant player and needs to be on the field, CONSISTANTLY. not just a play here or there. Seems like i have too many horrible stories of sick people. that is it. No more sick people stories. |

Your right he said he wanted to be the best Lineman to ever play the game. That sounded good when he signed his contract and when Synder was parading his prize free agent. Talk is cheap go so why not go to OTA's when you get a new HC and DC to learn the new scheme. If you want to be the best then you need to do everything posible to be the best. He is no where close to Reggie White, Brue Smith, Randy White, Dexter Manley, Charles Mann and so on. He is dreaming thus far but we will see if he is commited to stay here and be the best.:soapbox: |
Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
I want every Redskin player to succeed because I'm a fan of anyone that wears our colors. If AH is not sure or his heart is not in it to play for the Redskins then I don't want him here. I want our players to be proud to wear the Redskin uniform and understand the tradition of our team. I want them to know the passion that Redskin Nation fans truly have for the team. Some of us eat, sleep and breathe Redskins, which maybe a bit much but you know what I mean. I just want our team to start having success on the field where it counts. If AH is all in he will ne support here but it's up to AH how he will be treated and remembered by Redskins fans.

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
I know many of us can't stand the fat bastard, but I noticed as well as many others that he played well yesterday. He should get his props!
He forced at least one holding call and had a key 3rd and 3 stop to make it 4th and 1. I think he's still trying to get comfortable, but I can see a difference from when he's on the field compared to when he's not. They interviewed him and he quietly said he's not satisfied with himself and wants to play better and earn more playing time. Could he be buying in the system? Boy...Boy...Boy... If Haynesworth can even look somewhat motivated....that Defense improves greatly! Mcnabb said we can't win without him...Obviously,that was possibly just speaking teamwork talk... But the ironic thing is...Haynesworth has more snaps in our 1st and 4th game.:) Go figure... If Fat Al can at least play like he did last night folks...we're gonna be in a lot of games this season! Good job Fat Albert! I'm rooting for ya, ya greedy bastard...lol ace |
Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Al had a good game yesterday no doubt. If someone offered a 2nd and 4th, Id still take that in a hearbeat.
Funny reading A Philly blog after the game yesterday and they were saying how Jason Peters is their Albert Haynesworth. He took the money and just sux. Peters did have a horrible game yesterday. Like 2-3 holding calls.. |

Meh.....he's still cut bait at the end of the season.

No way they cut him if he starts to improve. With the money invested in the guy, in order for us to move him we need something in return.

There isn't anyone nearly as good as him available at his contract amount next year. Things seem to be going pretty well right now why make a bad football move like that. Now if we have to go through all the b.s. again then just end it. |

He has improved. 4 tackles, a pass deflection and forced several hold calls by the Eagles. Keep in mind, D-lineman normally do not get a lot of tackles, especially NTs, so 4 is a productive day. Shanahan spoke very highly of him after the game, as he should have. Albert played a good game, even as a backup. |
