I have no idea what you are implying....you're just a rambling man... and I feel like I have to seriously break everything down for you.
I am pro-border security so if Obama, Trump, Biden, or Johnny Depp had suggested we build a wall at the Southern border, I would have supported it. If they said we would pay for it using defense funding, I still would have supported it. "Promising" that Mexico would pay for it was stupid, but DT isn't the first candidate for President that failed to follow through on a "promise", for one reason or another. I can blame Biden for halting it's construction - because he did. Honestly, can you actually name one thing that is going well since Biden was sworn in? It is amazing to me, how much of your life you have allowed one orange man to consume. The obsession is clearly mental. I do wish you well. Maybe this will help get you back on track: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/happiness-in-world/201004/overcoming-obsession
Typical trump republican assume the worst by everyone else to make yourself feel better. Exactly where have I posted I don't want a secure southern boarder? I'll wait. People had said it wasn't going to work. Take that money and put it into more Border Patrols ,more man power, better Policing ,all for it. Biden got the Infrastructure package through as he did with the Covid relief package,. Unemployment is way down , appointed record amount of Federal Judges. He has had his miss's also but had that republican Manchin is more at fault for that. To me the big thing is the way he has handled the War in the Ukraine trump would have fucked it up big time. I still don't think he is a great President but he is 500% better then trump. It's funny you worry about me and trump but it's you the actual sheep that want him back and that's the very sad part of it all. |

I never said you didn't want a secure Southern border (or boarder). I said "If you think it (the wall) was a stupid idea, you probably don't really care what is happening at our Southern border, perhaps because it hasn't personally affected you - yet." Yes, some people said it wasn't going to work, and other people said it could work if combined with the appropriate surveillance. The thing is, you can do the wall, more border patrols, man-power, more sophisticated surveillance, actually enforce our immigration laws, etc. Why limit what we can do if it has the potential to serve the American people's best interests? When exactly did I say I wanted Trump back. I'll wait too... You continue to make shit up as you go. And unemployment is way down? No, not really... Because at the end of the day we are, of course, a democracy. Once a leader stays in office unduly that democracy goes away. There has only been one President I consider a danger to democracy. I supported every other President in my lifetime up unto, and after that one. I hope I never have to worry about our democracy again. |

It’s administration in charge. Biden continues not to be able to foresee and then manage issues as they arise. The question I have is when did the President know about, from my understanding the first time they the Whitehouse press secretary, Biden or Whitehouse statement release which mentions “Baby Formula” is April. Here is a timeline of when the FDA got the whistleblower report oct of last year…they started moving on it in February: https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/baby-formula-timeline-plant-posed-risk-fall/story?id=84703748 Could you imagine this same story and timeline under the Trump administration what the press and Dems would be saying? They would be calling for impeachment. Have the Democrats even had any hearing yet to find out what’s going on? This administration is completely inept at every level. |
Re: The Most Fresh & Cordial Political Thread Ever
All of this points to a bigger problem with the industry itself
How the U.S. got into this baby formula mess The infant formula industry is a multi-billion dollar business dominated by a handful of firms. In the U.S., just four companies control about 90% of the market, including Abbott Nutrition — the firm behind the shuttered Michigan plant. These companies operate a relatively small number of formula factories in order to maximize efficiency and keep their production costs low. "They're concentrating production into a few, very large plants but that creates a lot of risk," says Claire Kelloway of the Open Markets Institute, and anti-monopoly think tank. "A huge part of the crisis we're seeing now is from the closure of one plant."
|

Yes. The vote was partisan because Republicans didn't like the fact that the bill did not have the appropriate measures to hold the FDA accountable, as did the bill the Republicans proposed on Wednesday - which would have increased the supply of baby formula, AND establish oversight and accountability at the FDA, rather than just throw $$ at the FDA without fixing the actual problem. |

First…we don’t need to stimulate the economy anymore. Payments to student loans should have started already. I don’t support a policy that would benefit the high earning elites. Absolutely no way should attendees at private schools or any post graduate borrowing be included. Ivy League schools borrowing should be disqualified as well. I’d say public school borrowers who make under 50k a year maybe should have a percentage forgiven especially if they have carried the debt more than 10 years. But I don’t support any policy that fully wipes away anybody debt…if you borrower you should be made to pay at least a majority back. |

Instead of forgiving debt the focus should be making college more affordable. Also the endowment of these institutions should be targeted in how this is achieved.

LOL, that T word is way overplayed sometimes. I know it's hard to let go, but it doesn't actually belong in most arguments. Did you read that article I recommended?
https://news.yahoo.com/9-republicans-voted-against-bill-065128243.html INSIDER Here are the 9 Republicans who voted against a bill to help poor families buy baby formula amid the ongoing shortage
Hard to know all their reasons, but here is a response from one: "Giving the FDA millions of dollars is not going to produce one ounce of baby formula. Getting the FDA out of the way would accomplish that new production. The lengthy and heavy-handed complete shutdown and subsequent investigation of the Sturgis, Michigan Abbott facility in mid-February by the Biden FDA found no deadly bacteria in their products. There was no easing of restrictions by the FDA, there was no reopening plan from the FDA and not even an apparent awareness of the consequences of their actions until there was a critical shortage of formula available to America’s mothers who were unable to feed their infants. President Biden and his masses of bureaucrats have done nothing for months to alleviate or mitigate the problem, but now want the Democrats in Congress to throw more money at their bureaucratic friends out of a desire to, as Democrats have said before, avoid letting 'a good crisis go to waste.’ Creating a bigger deficit and increasing inflation, while using even more money to create bigger, more dysfunctional government is not a solution, no matter how attractive that may sound to some in the media. The FDA got us into this mess and they cannot get us out of it. Enabling Abbott to reopen its facility swiftly and removing burdensome government restrictions and regulations from safe baby formula from overseas would be a more efficient solution.” - Louie Gohmert (TX) |
Asking a question here, What is the general opinion on Student Loan Debt around here?
I would not be opposed to assistance on a case-by-case basis, but I wouldn't support a blank check to just wipe it all away. Some can actually afford to pay it off, and they should. My wife and I paid off her student loans. It sucked, but she knew she was getting a loan and would eventually have to pay it off once she got a job. And she (we) did. I understand that there are probably cases where families or individuals really struggle with it, and maybe those are the ones that need help. But if you do just forgive all student loan debt - for everyone - then what is the plan moving forward? I honestly don't know much about any of the proposed plans, so I'm asking. I would think we need to come up with a plan to make sure people don't get into this predicament in the future. Chico's suggestion to make college more affordable is a start. It's gotten way out of hand. |
