the last 3 minutes of that game were so much fun!! I was watching the game with a buddy of mine that is a big cowboys fan, so up until that point he was in a great mood and i was pissy!! lol . . . after those two scores everything changed!! great night!!
Oh man. I was also watching that game with a buddy of mine who is a big Cowboys fan. lol

Brunell, Moss and the great S. Taylor finished that game. Best 3 minutes of football in a long time for this team.
Everyone is obsessed w/ analytics. I wonder how many games analytics has won? Or lost? Seems kind of silly to me. Brandon Staley was a big analytics guy. As is David Tepper.
It is definitely the modern magic pill. Of course, there are many facets to analytics and some do it better than others.

As for winning or losing, the rise in going for 4th and medium, along with more 2pt conversions are both clear results from using analytics and I think they have made the game more interesting.

I can't get Atlanta's Super Bowl collapse when he was Atlanta's HC out of my mind. Dallas's ugly exit from the playoffs this year sticks in my mind, too. He worries me.

If quinn is hired I'm over all of this .. I don't care about the new owner or the boy wonder from San Fran .. if your first move on a coach is a cowboy .wtf and what does it say when McCarthy is a ass coach and Quinn doesn't replace him .. this can't be happening

Just crossing the I's and dotting the T's until Johnson or Macdonald are available.

Everyone relax.

I like that all these other teams are making decisions, should be pretty much a lock (if not already decided) that someone from the Lions or Ravens is our next HC.

Dan Campbell has done 1 helluva job, has the Lions to where they have 2 legitimate HC candidates.

Bringing in Quinn for a 3rd interview seems pretty serious. Idk.. that would be such a downer. I do think Quinn's a good coach but that entire thing w/ the Falcons just rubbed me the wrong way. He basically lost the SB cause he didn't run the ball. If you're leading the team you get in Kyle's ear and tell him to run the ball, run the clock and you basically win the game. Then his defense allowed Brady to pass for like 500+ yards. I don't want him.

I think for a fanbase that hasn't sniffed the SB in God knows how long, I would long for the day that I get to complain about my team losing in the SB.

That is the flip side of the argument. But I just get the feeling that Kyle was really the guy there. Cause once he left for SF things seemed to go downhill.

And Keim said that the key to hire a defensive HC is that they have a plan for the offense, not only hire the right OC, but having a good staff with a succession plan if/when that OC gets hired away.

Why wouldn't they have a similar plan for the defense?

Also, I don't see why Quinn would be having a third interview unless the deal is 90% done.

Because there is no way Dallas lets him leave for a lateral move, unless Jerry does something crazy.

People need to trust this decision making group, when it comes to HC selection, QB selection.

The constant variable that f*cked everything up, which was Dan Snyder, is gone. He's not picking up the HC or the QB.

There's always a risk that something doesn't work out, but grown ups who know what they are doing are making the decisions. And I think we need to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Ben Standing screwed up on his reporting, meant to say second, not third. Sigh of relief.

Update: Quinn's in-person meeting for this week was rescheduled to next week. Source in the know confirmed an erroneous report that suggested a 3rd meeting next week, which I then shared here. 2nd meeting -- 1st in person - next week, should it occur. Apologies for that.

No . . . Atlanta lost that super bowl because of Kyle Shanahan . . . He went ultra conservative after getting a big lead instead of continuing to do what got them the big lead. Shanahan called the plays, not Quinn!!

Trust is earned. Our new GM may have had a hand in picking Trey Lance. I'm glad he's here but like every GM he will have horrible misses.

Than he also had a hand in drafting Purdy and drafting such a good team that a horrible miss hardly left a mark.

Everyone's going to miss, sometimes badly. The overall body of work is what matters. We haven't sniffed a Conference Championship game in decades. The teams AP's been involved with have - and then some. There's nowhere to go, but up.

I hope Boomer is right about Ben Johnson being a slam dunk for us. I keep reading that Dan Quinn is the favorite for the Seattle job. If those two jobs are filled as expected, it's probably wait til next season for every one else.

I believe that Atlanta made a fine choice when they hired Raheem Morris. He has everything you could want in a leader and now he has the maturity and well-rounded experience he may have lacked when he was HC in Tampa Bay.

I read that Bobby Slowik was very impressive in his interviews. He may have needed a little more experience to land a HC job this season. We'll find out. He may well be at the top of the list for 2025.

I suppose that Mike MacDonald could land the HC job here but I doubt it because if we draft a QB with the #2 pick overall I think the brain trust will want a HC with an exceptional offensive mind to oversee his development. McDonald could also move to the top of the HC candidate list for 2025.

I wonder if we could land an experienced defensive coach as our DC and Assistant HC. He could mentor Ben Johnson. Mike Vrabel? Aaron Glenn, if he were to be allowed to leave Detroit?

The real reason I posted this is that every time I post a speculative move by the Commanders they make a decision before I can press the return key. You can thank me later today.

I hope Slowik or McDonald don’t end up in Philly next year. I have a feeling Siriani will soil himself next year - I think his success was a combo of a good roster from Roseman and good assistants who were poached last year and he will be exposed in the upcoming season.

No one here wants Slowik or MacDonald to go to Philly but I don't see any reason why they would want to do that.

I disagree with you about the Philly roster. They had a great group of star players who came up together and formed a great team. Then they started to get older and, as a group, they are no longer great. I think the 17 game season just about did them in as a team because of the wear and tear on their older roster. I believe they will continue to decline like they did in the latter part of this season.
