i'm suprised people haven't made the same complaints about him like they did with trotter not playing up to his contract. i like his versatility and he has a near non-stop motor, but hardly ever seems to be an impact in the game.

Someone PLEASE tell me whether this is a credible rumor. Anyone find anything on this?

Wynn has not made the huge, glaring mistakes that Trotter has on the field. Also Trotter has missed alot of games with knee injuries. Wynn, while unspectacular, has played well and his ability to play end and tackle is a plus.
After saying all this, I think Wynn is not worth the huge cap number he will have the next two years. We need a younger, cheaper and better pass rush DE.

I cant find anything that would indicate that there is going to be a trade, Big C, where did you originally here this?

Samuels didn't renegotiate because his value and leverage are both low right now. He didn't make the Pro Bowl and he had a down year, so if he signed an extension it would be for less money than if he was coming off a Pro Bowl season. True, it put the Skins in a bind, but put yourself in his shoes. If you were going to make 9 million dollars this year, and about the same next year, would you negotiate an extension that pays you less? He got a $10 million signing bonus as a rookie, chances are that he would have gotten about half of that from the Skins in a new deal because he has slipped a little. He was not among the best tackles in football, and Jansen clearly has outplayed him recently.

I'd trade him for Howard or Smith in a New York minute. Samuels can be one of the better tackles in football, but with a left handed qb his value goes down. I just worry about the cap hit because I'd like to see this team together for a couple of years.

I believe the original internet rumor came from an ESPN poster who claimed to have heard a deal was in the works between NO and the 'skins from a NO radio station. But don't know about any details regarding Smith, but there was some speculation on it being Darren Howard. But it's just another rumor. I don't think the 'skins would let anyone go at this point (except Trotter).

memphisskin:
The reason Samuels has not renegotiated his contract, is that at the time when he was ask to renegotiate, he had a bussiness deal in the works that had his money tied up and he needed the money he was going to make to see it through. Also his agent, who is also Pat Ramseys agent as well stated that he would not make any deal with the skins on any of his clients until Ramsey was traded. Now however; Samuels is happy to negotiate but the Redskins have cut off communications until further notice. Samuels is a good guy, but Snyder has it out for him because he was not willing to negotiate when snyder wanted to negoiate. hopefully, this problem can be resolved sooner than later with Samuels staying in DC. Under Bugel he will be a monster Tackle mark my words.
