Does anyone know why Lavar introduced himself by his high school and not Penn State at the beginning of the game? I thought that was odd...

Re: How bout it Lavar

Note to Lavar: See what happens when you play within the scheme? He was in position and that's why he landed the INT right in his lap. If he'd been chasing someone else or trying to bullrush when he wasn't called upon to, he wouldn't have been able to make the play. Of course, Lavar proved that he wasn't the brightest bulb on the christmas tree when he jumped offsides on a 3rd and 5 to give TB a first down - keeping TB's drive alive and leading to three points.

All said, Lavar did end up having a good game, and he has been a positive locker room influence. Gotta be excited for the guy who's been waiting 6 years to get to the playoffs. I want to belive he wants to be here next year, but i don't see him willing to renegotiate his deal after the ugliness that transpired between him and the skins management.

he played great... and I love the guy, but does he look bigger than he used to? Maybe married life is getting to him or something, but he doesn't look as lean as he did before last season.
He ll be back did you see the interview at the end of the game. The passion for the burg. and gold was comin out of him.
Actually he seemed a little high to me! LOL

Maybe just high on life, but high regardless!

He did have that big INT, but he also had another silly offsides penalty on 3rd and 5 extending a drive for the Bucs. He's got to get more disciplined there

I think he acknowledged his hig school as a jab at Joe Pa and Penn State. In the lates issue of the Warpath he says he thinks the whole thing of him being a "freelance lins backer" and not playing in the scheme is due to Paterno. Apparently he said it early in Lavar's career and it has haunted him. I thoiugh he played an inspired game and with out the tipped pass and interception the whole copmplexion of the game could have been vastly different given our offensive out put for the day.

He played well but he wasn't a phenom. Marcus Washington was more of a game changer than LaVar (and yes, LaVar was in the right place at the right time to make the interception).

I don't think anybody hates Lavar or thinks he's a crappy player - I just don't get the "fall down and worship at his feet" attitude of some fans.

Seriously, where are the props for Marcus? He strips the ball and has the presence of mind to keep playing on so we score a touchdown. He seals the victory with an interception. He rocked and is clearly the best LB on our defense.

I'm with you on this JR. Honestly I think a lot of the reason MW doesn't get enough love is that he's not out there on ever pre and post-game show talking about how much he loves the fans, and loves the city, blah blah blah. Even though I'm sure he does. Plus LaVar is "one of our own" since he was a draft pick.

MW has been making those kinds of plays all year, LaVar finally makes one and everyone goes nuts.

I agree that Marcus Washington had a hell of a game, but if you want to get technical, he was in the right place at the right time for the pick at the end of the game. And his strip and recovery was nice, but he almost gave it right back to the Buc's, if not for the athleticism of Sean Taylor.

I agree. Worshipping LaVar is a bit overboard, but so is acting as though he's only a troublemaker, and not a team player(not that you do, but there are plenty that do).

Marcus wasn't this game... he was non existant befre the sack.... lavar was everywhere... he stepped up give him his due... he came to play...that's what bigtime players do....

NO - it was a big deal. That's the point. Lavar makes a great play followed by a bonehead play. Fortunately the defense stepped up and covered for him giving away a crucial first down. Sorry - if he gets recognition for the good stuff then fess up and admit that the was a classic dumb Lavar mistake.

Again, MW is hyped every f***ing play - When was the last time you saw him jump offsides?

To win at the highest level it takes everybody doing all the little things right. No freebies for the other team. That's what Gibbs has been preaching, that's what the majority of the players seem to understand and that's why we are in the playoffs.
