Last year, there was some contentious debate up until the moment of the pick whether to take Alex Smith or Aaron Rogers with the first overall pick. The 49ers chose Smith, and Rogers (who sat next to Smith in the Green Room) went... 24th, to the Packers.

Will Young fall to 53? No, but that doesn't mean that someone isn't going to fall precipitously. There are as many draft experts as there are mock drafts, and the only consensus is that Bush will go first. Probably. Somebody in somebody's top twenty will be available at 53, so this isn't as crazy a topic as it sounds. The question becomes do we take the best player available if that position is absolutely solid? If LenDale White is there, do we take him? If Senorice Moss is there, do we take him? In the days leading to the draft, anything can happen. Young could have an interview saying he wants to race motorcycles in the offseason, and be available in the second. Leinart could twist his knee coming out of a chi-chi nightspot and slip in the draft. Reggie Bush could join the Klan, and, well, still go number 1.

Point is, anything can happen.

If meteors fell and simultaneously destroyed all 31 stadiums other than FedEx, would the NFL automatically give Washington the Lombardi trophy?

.........the odds are about the same.

Trick question as there are only 30 other stadiums since the Jets and Giants share a stadium. Do I get a smiley face sticker now?...and a lollipop?

Nicely done TAFKAS :thumb:

However, what about the fact that the Saints technically have two stadiums until the Superdome is officially ready again? That would make it 31, wouldn't it?

I know the offseason is a little slow right now, but this thread is really reaching.

Yeah, and we could all tear our ACLs while going for a jog on the beach.

This thread is laughable.

Of course. Then we trade him shortly thereafter to HOU for both of thier third rounders.

If a player that has a huge upside and potential drops to us but not at a position of need, take them. Either weork them into your roster or try to play them enough that you could get more than you paid.

The big question is what do we do if Bush falls to #53?

No, we take the best pick to fill our biggest need. Now if we have an older player like springs and there is a good corner still there then maybe go that direction but we should not go after the best player because they are still there.

Young dropping to #53 would be an all-time draft day shocker.

Not worth firing up a synapse to think about.
