My high schools baseball coach was the chain man at RFK throughout the 80's up through the early 90's. He told us that Timmy Smith had legendary stupidity. He was incapable of keeping the plays straight in his head. He was constantly being reminded what to do on the field. I don't know if this is BS or not but I've heard the story so many times I've just believed it.

Anyone else heard anything similar?

if i remember right he made it, played a couple of games, got hurt, and was finished

It's sad Timmy chose to go that route, but as one poster already mentioned "He was lucky to only get 2/1/2 yrs, for distrubution. Great performance in SB XXII which I'll always remember. If he serves his time like he played in that game he'll be alright. Young man with a hopefully, long life ahead.
