Re: Question for the historians
think about some of the pass rushers from that time and lachey had a couple of years where he was a wall of granite. played on the team that allowed fewest sacks in a season if im right.

Re: Question for the historians
I should have known that but at 44 my brain just can't keep up like it used to.
I would say that was a trade for the ages as Lachey was the anchor for so many years. Will/Should Jim make the Hall of Fame guys?
As a Skins fan, I say hell yeah. Objectively, I'd have to say it would be tough for Jim to make it in. Some guys were really good but for whatever reason, they just don't make enough noise to get themselves in contention. |
Re: Question for the historians
One of the reasons that Schroeder was traded for Lachey is because Schroeder also holds the Redskins single season record for most soiled uniform pants. LT tortured him in the '86 season and playoffs. I felt horribly for him and Joe Jacoby because the broadcasters kept talking about Jacoby's hearing impairment and that Schroeder was constantly looking over his shoulder for LT.

Re: Question for the historians
Front page of the Washington Post that day said 'Schroeder is a Trader Raider'.
That's why I never forgot that trade. I was mad at the time because I liked Jay but my Dad told me it was a steal for us. Turns out he was right. |
