Re: Tom Friend on Riggins Show
If they sign Clements than Springs will have to be cut - you can't pay 2 corners that much money and leave the D-Line they way it is. Plus Springs will make over $7.5 million next year and he was out for half the year this year so do the Skins take that chance again? What was interesting is according to the releasing fee schedule on this site if the Skins cut him after this year the releasing fee is down to $4.9 million from $7.4, if the Skins cut Springs in 2008 the releasing fee goes down to $2.5 million - I could see them cutting him after 2008 since his cap number will be $8.4 in 2009 and the releasing fee will only be $2.5 million. They could than draft another corner or sign a free agent at that time and the cap would be saved in 2007.
My bet on the mole is Adam Archuletta - he has been relegated to punt team and he can't even get that right. The coaches have been reported to make a mockery of him at practice and he seems like he really wants out of here. |
Re: Tom Friend on Riggins Show
I heard an interview with Springs, on i think it was Redskins.com, after the game and he said it wasn't him, because if it had been him he would've spoke up about it, if he had an issue people would know.

I think I read somewhere that Springs would consider a move to safety to extend his career. I could see Springs being a great complement to Taylor in the safety position since he's a superior cover guy and solid tackler. Realistically, that's what I figured we'd being going after instead of AA. Archuleta is basically another Taylor style safety. I would agree with you on Archuleta being the mole except for the fact that a lot of the info from the article would indicate the player has been with the organization since Williams arrived on the scene. OMG, what if its Ade?:spank: |
Re: Tom Friend on Riggins Show
Moving Springs to safety ehhhh????????? Interesting. Springs might also take a reserve role, albeit an expensive one. He is having a lot of injury problems, and at his age will probably get worse

Re: Tom Friend on Riggins Show
Tom Friend is going to be on the Riggo show again today at 5

Re: Tom Friend on Riggins Show
Springs himself has said that he's intrigued over possibly moving to safety to prolong his career. He's certainly got the size and enough speed.

Re: Tom Friend on Riggins Show
I'm glad it's out in the open. Maybe they will actually do something to fix the problem now!

Why would Springs even say that unless he thought it was a person who fit that description. The article itself even said that the player who was talking could be accused by other players of having an axe to grind. I am 90% sure it was AA. |
Re: Tom Friend on Riggins Show
Who said "the person should come out with who they were, being TO isnt that bad"?

Re: Tom Friend on Riggins Show
I don't even care who said what at this point.
We'll probably find out eventually, until then we still have 5 games to play. |

Re: Tom Friend on Riggins Show
If I were Gibbs, I would have done exactly the same thing. Publicly, he implyed, he would not dignify the story based on innuendo, speculation, or other Jerry Springer type tactics. No names-no story. Privately, if he has not been, he will get a little more involved in Gregs business until he can get a warm fuzzy that things are as they should be.
