Re: Tom Friend Interview WashingtonPost.com
For the Snyder haters:
I think Snyder has totally taken a step back this year. The Six Flags deal, the movie deal with Tom Cruise. I don't think he's as hands on as he's been. Essentially, he's turned it over to Gibbs, completely, except when it comes to the pursuit of free agents. But he's only pursuing the free agents Gibbs and Gibbs' staff want him to pursue. Gregg Williams wanted Andre Carter, not Darren Howard. Gregg Williams begged Archuleta to come. That's not on Snyder. If Gibbs tells Snyder no big spending this year, then he won't spend.
GREAT quote Matty, thanks. I'm gonna put this on my fridge and bring it back whenever the Snyder haters reemerge. In fact I'd love to make it my sig. |

Mike Wise is someone else entirely. ;) I thought it was interesting to read that some of these issues with the secondary coaches were happening last year and how Clark was getting frustrated by it. |
Re: Tom Friend Interview WashingtonPost.com
I read his on line chat, very revealing. He stood by his sources and what motivated him to write the article.
What I found most interesting is that he doesn't think GW will be our next head coach. I would really like to see Russ Grimm come to D.C.
I use to know Grimm's son, he went to my middle school. Met Rus Grim too, great guy, back then he was an assistant on the Skins. |

well, gibbs did say "i've got to talk to danny" when he mentioned the kicking thing, so either ldsd has some say or it was just a money thing, but it wasn't really specified. I don't believe danny would tell gibbs to pound sand on ANYTHING though, but if danny adn vinny go over personnel decisions with gibbs, it's hard to imagine they have absolutely no say or opinions, even if they can be over-ruled. |

It wasn't Danny Smith he was talking about? I've never heard him refer to Snyder as "Danny" |
Re: Tom Friend Interview WashingtonPost.com
id assume that was danny smith. gibbs always call dan snyder either mr. snyder or dan snyder

Re: Tom Friend Interview WashingtonPost.com
It seems pretty obvious to me that the player is AA. Friend goes out of his way to defend him and speaks of his plight on a personal level. the article seems to be based from a safeties perspective. It could possibly be Taylor I guess.

He's been on Rome all week. He's a frequent forum guest |
Re: Tom Friend Interview WashingtonPost.com
I've been out of town and out of sports loop for a week or so. Did this article receive any national attention? I can't believe an expose like this would go under the radar nationally. Especially on Rome's show, he loves talking about that kind of stuff.
