I'm too late...Matty took the words I was going to say and posted them under his name. Bastard.

The non-call on the delay of game was horrendous. The non-call on Carter, who got tackled, near the Saints end zone was pretty bad. Wife had to tell me to lower my voice because she didn't want the neighbors to think I was beating her.

I thought he caught it when they replayed it but I also said to myself that it's too close to reverse. Also, I could have sworn it was Randle El not Moss on that play.

Delay of game should have been called as well as at least two holds. Funny, I rarely pay attention to our offensive linemen as far as holding goes but you can be damn sure I'll notice when the other team does.

On the Saints' very first play from scrimmage I swear Andre Carter was held and it looked down right obvious. I could be wrong but he tried to turn and get to Brees but the OT held him back. On the Santana catch it looked like he caught it to me but I can understand them not overturning it I guess. The Delay of game, I almost spilled my beer on that shit ! Overall, I'm happy the Skins won but I tell you when the league wants someone to win they do what they can don't they ? That's just my opinion

I thought Carter was held all day--the tackle from behind was the most obvious. He's really stepped up his game.

But it's hard to complain when we get so few calls against us--we are one of the most penalzied teams. I think we probably benefit from non-calls more than most, given our history this season.

Yeah, it was VERY obvious. I was yelling at the TV on that one. It's really bad because they got a big gain and first down. It would've ended their drive with simple enforcement of the rules.

There WERE lots of bad calls, but I'm glad we overcame them.

It's great to see that we've stopped getting penalties in the last couple of weeks after letting stupid things kill us all season. We've really become more diciplined. I heard the commentator say that Gibbs brought in refs to throw flags in practices and makes films of all penalties in games AND practices so the guys have to watch every one of their goof-ups.

More evidence he's the best coach in the NFL...even if he doesn't have a lot to work with (from injuries).

In their defense the official time is kept on the field so there could have been a discrepancy between what we saw on TV and what the official time actually was on the apparent missed delay of game call.

It's a non-call that you do see now and then.

Rarely against the Skins Matty. When that clock goes 0 it goes 0, no excuses. As a matter of fact they got Washington on one yesterday ! I just remembered. It is missed from time to time but that's one that I hardly ever see missed.

When it goes to zero it doesn't mean it's actually zero though, that's not the official time.

Yeah I understand it's not official, I'm just saying how often have you watched a game and you see that clock go to zero and the flag isn't thrown? I feel like it was a blown call but I understand things do happen.

Last year in the Chicago-Carolina playoff game, Rex Grossman threw an INT when the snap clearly came after the play clock expired. Chicago fans were crying afterward that their team wasn't flagged for delay of game. That brings up a point - might a team be able to challenge non-calls for delay of game if one of the end zone cameras can catch both the play clock and the snap of the ball? Between that non-call, the line judge missing Brees's illegal forward pass (initially), and the umpire eating his flag when Andre Carter got tackled from behind by a Saints O-lineman, I was wondering about this crew giving the Saints more than their share of a home-field advantage.

I swear I've seen something like that before, but maybe I'm thinking of a basketball game or something.

Matty- if the refs have the offical time on the play clock, can't you also run into situations where the clock in the stadium reads :01, or more, but the refs blow the play dead for delay of game? I would think that would also happen quite frequently, especially considering the fact that I feel like the clock hits :00 at least once a game, which I remember happening at least twice in our game against Jax.

Good point, I'm really not sure. I guess only the stadium clock runs fast. ;)

we won, and we cry if the refs call this crap on us. i would rather they let us play. good teams win regardless of the reffing
