Yeah, you are right. These guys clearly were on the stuff. But why stop there? What about Gale Sayers too? 6 seasons and done? Come on man, that guy was juiced up. And don't even get me started on Bo Jackson. Finally, OJ Simpson, what was his nickname? Next thing you know he is spassing out and two people are dead. Coincidence? Not coincidence, proof.
Re: 1999-2000 Penn State Lions
Steriods? Naw, I don't think so. It's going to happen when your slamming your 200+ pound body, into another 200+ pound body. I think with a full season to recoup, and train Lavar would still be a force. I think he's slacked off in training, and his body is paying the price for it. When LT was playing, it was thier life to play football, everything else came second. With the money these guys make, they play football to finace the rest of thier life.

I wasn't necessarily saying Brown/Arrington took steroids, and if they did I'd bet it wasn't till the NFL. I simply think we underestimate the amount of steroids and HGH in the league right now.

Re: 1999-2000 Penn State Lions

I don't think there are many guys taking steriods because of the testing. However there are other things. HGH can not be tested for and also Insulin. Insulin is the most powerful hormone in the body and there is no way to test for it. |

Huh. It does make you think. Apparently the dominant Steelers of the 70's were big time steroid users. You know the Raiders were (ummm, Lyle Alzado anyone??). It would be sad to think Gale Sayers juiced. If he did, he was one of the earlier players to do so, seeing as his career started in '65. I live in SEC territory and I've heard the stories about Bo Jackson. I am pretty sure he was getting some "unethical help" as well. Oh well. Unfortunately with the amount of pressure pro sports and the media creates on athletes, the whole by any means necessary thinking takes precedence. |
