Re: Who gets the first carry of 2007?

It may seem like an insignificant question to ask, but I think giving it to Portis first sends a message to the team that Clinton is still the #1 back (as he should be). In fact, I think you hand it to Clinton 5 times before you give it to Betts, just to make sure the team gets the message loud and clear.

Portis is one of the team leaders and he needs to continue to be viewed as such.

This is quite a clever way of starting another Betts v. Portis debate, I must say

I think we should trade Ladell AND CP and let Rock just be in there for every play.

Re: Who gets the first carry of 2007?

It starts of as a simple run up the middle with Betts. Only it's not so simple. Betts takes the handoff and charges for the generously large gap that Samuels has provided. At the last moment he stops, turns to his left and laterals to a streaking Santanna Moss who races in the backfield to his right. He then hands the ball off to Portis who heads back in the reverse direction. Portis stops short of the line of scrimmage and chucks the ball 20 yards downfield to Cooley. Cooley catches the ball and pitches it to a streaking Lloyd who races 47 yards for the score.

OK, so now we have 13 men on the field... I say we trade everyone and just have the Dirt Bags, Mark Brunell & Rock in the back field... we are going to be so good that we can play everyone with only 7 men on the field to their 11... that way they can keep the score close.... but we will still go 16-0 in the regular season.

13 men? 2 wr's, 2 rb's, 1 te, 1qb and 5 linemen. I count 11 men in my fantasy football play sequence.

Regardless, I agree that we should restrict ourselves this year to make the games seem closer in contest. Either that or we should play against the AFC Pro Bowl team for the championship.

I was just being sarcastic... not particularly about your comment... more of all of these threads that become Ports v Betts.

Mike Sellers. 2nd and 1 after a 9 yard out to Moss. Sellers gets the 1st.

Re: Who gets the first carry of 2007?

I would have to say "my balls" get first carry and go for a 1 yard gain.

Then after the first hit, promptly retire from football to go into movies.

Typical response from a superstar....lol
Well Portis will be healthy b/c we're barely going to let him on the field in preseason. Portis is also the starter. So I would say Portis. Can I say it again? Portis.
so your thinking LB?

Re: Who gets the first carry of 2007?

I think it will be a flee flicker from Terry Allen to Gus ... then a 40 yard TD pass to Leslie Sheppard.

I was thinking the same exact thing.

Lets line up in the wishbone and run an option play with a toss to CP who then has LB come around back and wait for the pitch from Clinton. That way everyone wins. Of course Sellers will pave the way. Anyone up for a Brunell, Campbell, Ramsey debate?

Only if I can take "D" for none of the above.
