Thanks for the post skins009 I was begining to worry.I was just watching around the horn and they mentioned how Taylor had not signed with an agent yet.I said uh-oh its getting into the national media this cant be good.
Now all he needs to do is sign his contract and I can stop being worried about it. |
I think that the FO already has a very attractive contract ready for him. Due to the fact that he took so long to sign with an agent, they just want to get him on the field, so when he found his agent they can say here is the best deal and try to speed talks up faster.
I am sure that he will want certain things also, but as far as the money I think the FO knows what it will take to get him in to camp on time.
I hear what you're saying and I definitely want him out on the field as soon as possible. But I don't want this to set a precedent where players back teams into a position where they have to make a sudden decision just to get the player to camp on time. Make any sense what I'm saying here? I don't think I'm expressing it well. |
Yes, and I agree and I understand, but that is one of the only reasons as to why I can imagine he would wait so long to sign on an agent.

1 down, 1 to go with Taylor.
I'm sure Danny will do everything possible to get ST in camp on time, but it's not going to be easy. |
I agree 100%, Smack. And, Matty, I agree it is going to be tough to get him in on time. It would really help if #4 and #6 got signed pretty quick. But we KNOW that won't happen with #6 LOL. I don't think he will be in for next week's workouts, but I sure hope he is in by (or very, very close to) the official start of training camp.

Good insight... |
skins8588, he could have held off not to push the team into a contract corner, but to get the agent to agree to a lower commission.
arrington wouldn't let the NFLPA use his name on jersey's cause he wanted 8% instead of the standard 6%... in the end he ended up with zero and his fans were a bit miffed... |
I don't know why, but I'm just getting bad mojo from this guy. I wanted us to draft him, but I'm a little worried about him being a bust -- one of those guys that has the talent, but won't put in the work. I've got nothing to base that on other than my gut.
Let's just hope this dude brings it come game time... |

Good insight...
Thanks man. Compliments really take on added weight when they come from The Curmudgeon |
wow, awesome news.
As a side note, are you guys familar with T.Newmans contract from last year, the previous 5th overall pick. I was looking at it a while ago, so these numbers arent exact but its a very interesting deal. We all know that synder backloads contracts but newmans is crazy. He got a 13 million dollar bonus, which IMO is huge for someone who hasnt played. Then he has like 6 years where everyyear its a one million dollar cap hit, then in the last year of the contract hes due to make 14 million. By then though the bonus is paid for, because thast spread out over 6 years, and i assume they will obvioulsy redo his contract. So he essentially has all upfront money |
Thank God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taylor saw the actual season tickets this week and said "Wow, I really am a Redskin. I better get moving on a contract!" For those fortunate to have tickets, check it out. Game 4. :D
