Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
The interesting thing about this team.... is I havent met a current player that wasent a class act.
Sean Taylor was easily my favorite, though.
Out of all the players i have met, chris cooley, sean taylor, ryan clark, and marcus washington were the nicest. I am sure cooley, clark and marcus would also be great to talk to but i didn't have a real long chance to with them. Sean Taylor is a real class act to talk to. I am not kidding. I always heard Williams talk about sean being a great guy and there was an article that came out when he was on trial about him being misunderstood but it didn't seem like he was going to be very friendly because of the trouble he'd been in. Sean talked to me about me. I didn't talk much football with him. He was talking to me about going to college and stuff. Real good guy. |
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
Joe Gibbs.
I spoke with him at a Bobby Labonte fan club outing several years ago. I had no idea he was going to be there and when I saw him standing behind me I got so excited I almost cried. |
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
I Met Chris Cooley Last Year At The Beach Blitz In Va Beach He Was A Really Down To Earth Guy

Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
I met Theismann, Riggins, Monk, Dexter Manley and Dave Butz in Dallas in 1983. Stayed in the same hotel and got all their autographs and a photo with Joey T. GREAT guy!
Charlie Brown was a first class douchebag. The most pretentious, arrogant fuckstick. Riggo was cracking jokes and Dexter was like a big kid. Butz kinda scared me...hell, I was 16. |
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
I dont really go to signing events. I only really get autographs before and after games and at training camp. Its harder at training camp to get high profile players because of the crowd. GIbbs signs everyone at training camp though but it is impossible to get him at games.
But yeah, i never really tried for old players. I have a charley taylor autograph but it means nothing to me because i didn't get it myself. I guess this will be the first if i go.
He is doing a charity signing for Breast Cancer in August.. I think it is a $10 donation... in Tysons... I actually have another thread about it.... That way you can help a good cause and meet him. |
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
When Ken Harvey was here he was far and away the nicest Redskin I ever met. (And the last good pass rusher they had also)

I agree Ken Harvey was one of the best... but he will never be recognized as that because he played in the Norv Turner era.... that is a time period most of us would like to forget... but a GREAT GUY |
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
tie: Russ Grimm, Tony McGee & Mark Schlereth

Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
I would have to say... Mike Sellers.

Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
Living in Gainesville, Fl for the past seven years, I haven't met any current Redskins. I did meet Terry Allen at a Wizards game years ago, and he was really cool.
I have met Jevon Kearse several times. When he's back in Gainesville he loves to come into my bar for a chicken philly and a few miller lites. He is really friendly. Talkative, outgoing, looks you in the eye when he shakes your hand... Too bad he's an Eagle. |
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
No contest - JOE GIBBS.

Re: Who's the coolest that you met??

Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
Hands down it was Chris Hanberger about 30 - 35 years ago.
Jurgensen was cool too, but Hanberger was THE best... |
