I have a buddy that works for one of the chip processing plants and he's said it will have a marginal effect on actual gameplay(ie load times), but will immensely impact the sound and heat build up of the system. he had told me about the chips a few monthes ago and thats why I've been waiting to trade in and get an elite. maybe I'll wait to see if that grey one comes to the market as well now.

I used to love playing video games. I used to be the better than all of my friends at madden. I was ranked just about 250th out over 100,000 people online on xbox live and i never cheated. Now it saddens me that I am just a bit better than average at madden and have fallen behind in most gaming news. I feel like an old man. :( These prices for the systems are to blame. I can't believe that i am getting used to them too. When i heard that the 360 was going to be 400 and the ps3 600 i was like, hell no. No f'n way am i going to pay that. Now its like, thats what it costs.


Regardless, those of you that kept up with the e3 expo, what are your impressions? What systems look like they are going to do good in the next year and further out.

I am just about ready to get an elite. If the price goes down in 2 months i'll live with it. I can't believe its almost been 2 years and no 360 price cut. Makes me wish i just got it back then. There are way to many games i want to get. That is what the problem is. There are like 10 games i want, madden, ncaa, halo, COD 4, GTA 4, PGR 4, Guitar hero, Rainbow 6 las vegas, and more. I mean that is another 500 right there plus the controllers and xbox live subscription. I mean, that is a shit load and if i'm going to spend 1000+ in the next six months I guess i should wait for the price cut as the good games are comming out later. ARg.

looks like there's only going to be a $499 option temporarily. great job sony. get some excitement about your system again and then go and make a stupid move like this. hopefully this drives down the price of the used ps3's.

I got one hoping that if the price dropped it would happen in 30 days. Bestbuy has a match policy on that. Now i got it like 2 weeks ago and if the price drops this weekend or the next. If it is after that I'll live. I'm thinking the elite may fall to 400

Now i think i got the xbox on 7/14 which gives me till 8/13. Now that is the day before madden comes out. If that shit drops on 8/14 and they don't let me do it i'll get mad. Anyone know when price changes usually happen at Bestbuy, i mean day of the week

if u go the used route after the price drop u could get a system, harddrive, & extra controller for about $350

right this second it'll still cost u $450
