Re: Is Fred Smoot Still Injured?

our defense scares me tonight. we are going to play to bend but dont break. so i dont expect too much pressure being put on mcnabb with blitzes tonight. the front four will have to get the pressure and we know how good they do that. with no smoot banged up and we will see how much springs will play hes not listed on the injury report so hopefully he can play all game. if we play soft coverage and play zone tonight like week 1 it will be a rough night for the defense.

Yea, I'm glad they are not in charge of the pregame team pep talk.

Springs is ready to go, which gives us four first round draft choices in our starting lineup, all healthy. Macklin is ready to step up and show what he can do. We have much more depth in the secondary than we did last year.

Campbell is psyched to show what he can do in a national spotlight. Moss is primed to show what he can do, and to make a statement.

Lito Sheppard is out, unfortunate for him, but it only helps our passing offense.

CP is looking for a big game and the Eagle front four is not the best at run defense. They will have a lot of run defensing to do.

Anthony Montgomery is going to get a sack - write it down.

Redskins 24, Eagles 17

Still holding on to my initial prediction of 27-17, skins win.

Portis - 100yds
Betts- 80yds
Suisham 2/2 FG

It's time to get pumped up folks!
We need smoot to play, without him we are back to last year's secondary
After Smoot's performance last week, some might argue we still are last year's secondary.

You forgot to mention that Gibbs is going to fart right after the 2nd half kickoff. ;)

Contrary to popular belief, Smoot played very well last week. He was involved in defensing several big plays. He only allowed 3 catches. Sure he missed an INT that would have ended the game, but he was far from stinking up the field. FYI 2 of the catches he allowed were kept in front of him despite slipping.

Re: Is Fred Smoot Still Injured?

letting go walt harris was really poor decision making ... we hafto hope macklin can show up tonight... if smoot doesnt play... honestly i think our d will be fine tonight... i think this wins in the bag... close, tough win but i think we out-class the eagles in the hunger/talent department if u ask me... we are starting to gel together and build continuity... and i think the world will see this more-so tonight....

kornhieser, tirico, and jaws all think it's a toss up... and if the redskins d plays light out... then we should win... i met them sunday morning when they met at my friends father's/jaws' golf course for a round...

nice guys they seem, and korny is alittle different then he portrays on tv...

The problem is, the secondary really hasn't been tested yet. Tonight with the Eagles, next week against the G-strings, and even the Lions will give us all we can handle.

To me, the secondary is the biggest question mark -- I'm still not convinced that won't be the Redskins undoing this year.

I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of game Macklin has.

I'm about to call a Walt Harris moratorium. He was horrible here. H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. He couldn't cover his ass with his pants.

He switched to a team that plays a lot of zone, and got a bunch of picks last year. Good for him. That doesn't mean we should have kept him.
