Re: London Fletcher = madman
i was a naysayer when the skins signed Fletcher. but he has been all that, and more. its amazing how few big plays the skins defense has given up, as compared to last season. and even Godfrey was a solid pick up. he isn't Marcus, but did a good job filling in. and this really shows me how horrible Holdman was

Re: London Fletcher = madman
LF had one of the best games i can remember for a skins m-linebacker. Tackling machine. Come to think about it, it was probably the best game i've seen from a skins linebacker.

He has hands of stone. I still think the jury is out on this guy as he has yet to really impress me with his cover skills. |
Re: London Fletcher = madman
The only thing that rogers did good in the whole cardinal game was when he got juked out and wrapped his arm around boldin. He defenitly should of got a pass interference on the play, but im not complaining that he didnt. We need to blitz more and heres the answer, send rogers every play after the quarter back and put landry on his receiver. Carlos contuiously gets beat deep and misses easy tackles( the Burress screen td during the giants game comes to mind). smoot and springs should be starting with macklin backing them up.

Re: London Fletcher = madman
Fletcher may be the best acquisition the Skins have made on defense since trading for Ken Houston 35 years ago. I'll give Gibbs and the FO props for nearly every player acquisition on the defensive side of the ball (Archuleta aside):
FA Starters: Daniels Carter Griffin Fletcher Washington Springs/Smoot Drafted Starters: Montgomery/Golston McIntosh Taylor Rogers Landry That is one heck of a good percentage considering only one outright bust in Archuleta. Kudos to Gibbs/Snyder/Cerrato and anyone else evaluating the defensive talent we've brought in. |

In the Era of Gibbs I, some would belittle JG because Bobby Beatheard (Sp?) and then Charlie Casserly picked the players. You look at those acquisitions, and you have the foundation of a group that can really do something. J-Dawg. |

Landry been quiet but I haven't noticed anyone hurting us long-- he's apparently shutting some people down. I'm also impressed by Montgomery. He made a one armed tackle while being blocked last Sunday that I'm still thinking about. I can't even remember the name of that big tackle people wanted us to draft a year ago. Also, I notice that McIntire is having a better season than Briggs. Sometimes moves you don't make are as good as those you do. |

I take it you mean McIntosh |
Re: London Fletcher = madman
I wish New England felt like you about building by the draft
We then would of had a chance for Moss, Stallworth and Welker that they just picked up
I think siging free agents is a bad idea. We should build through the draft. That's how good teams do it. Fletcher is a good example of this... wait no he isn't. Fletch is a beast and proof that informed and strategic free agent signings are part of building a winning team too.
|
Re: London Fletcher = madman
I was so excited when we picked up LF, i knew he would be a rock for us, the guy has averaged like 145 tackles a year. What really gets me thinking is how big of an impact he is having on the development of Blades, they have all the same physical attributes, undersided, fast, lot of heart. It just makes me wonder what kind of player Blades will be having such a great mentor, to go with his family pedigree.
