Well if we had the talent and the coaching how can you put the blame on the owner because his job is to get the players and the coaches. The owners do not coach the team.
Snyder fired Marty S. after one year to bring in a college coach who was terrible. I mean we had Danny W. and Shane M. as our qb's. Two years of Spurrier was just painful. John Cooke would have never did anything like that.

I'm not saying that he hasn't made mistakes as I was responding to another post which did not make any sense. See above.

Also it was Cooks birthday yesterday.
I heard from a couple of people who would know as well as anybody that Jack Kent Cooke used to give John a lot of busywork projects to keep him away from being involved in the key decisions of the franchise. When it came time to close deals with players for example, Papa Cooke allegedly used to have his son in at the beginning and then send him off to find things like the best bottle of champagne, and while he was gone the deal would actually be negotiated. Apparently, it was a running inside joke that as long as John was in the room it meant Jack wasn't planning on doing anything.
And maybe that's why Old Jack died alone.

Not sure if John would have done better. For one thing, he kept Norv Turner around too long, partly because he was distracted with trying to buy the team. But, he would have run the team through a legit GM, which would have avoided the blunders of the first four years of Snyder's ownership.
