And the other foot's on a banana peel.
My guess is they're going to come out like an animal backed into a corner. We have to be ready for a friggin slugfest this weekend, because they're going to be fighting for their playoff lives.
Had to echo this. Division rivals always play up, no matter what their record is. Think 1989: 0-8 Cowboys beats a 4-5 Redskins on their way to 1-15, and that loss pretty much kept the Skins out of the playoffs that year.

Just because the Eagles wings' have been clipped and their ship is sinking, doesn't mean they won't come out guns blazing. McNabb always plays well against the Skins, and as long as Brian Westbrook is healthy, they have a chance. The Skins just have to keep playing their game, and they should do just fine.

By no means are they dead. Yes, they've played poorly and they have a huge distraction unfolding before their coach's eyes publicly. But, they always seem to make it difficult for us when the chips are down and when we are favored to kick their butts. However, if we play inspired mistake free football this coming weekend, we could do some serious, if not irreparable, damage to the Iggles.

Like Matty said, the NFC is so weak I wouldn't count Philly out yet.

It wouldn't surprise me to find a couple of .500 teams taking the wild cards as crummy as the NFC is this year.

Besides that, I wouldn't downplay ANY NFC East matchup. I don't care if Philly is 0-9 at this point, the rivalries in the NFC East are tough. Best to just ignore win-loss records when it comes to Dallas, New York and Philly.

Officially dead is not a right choice of words, yes they are dead for winning the division being 4 games back of Dallas, but making the playoffs no they are not dead yet.

Re: Is Philly Officially Dead?

The Eagles front is vulnerable to getting beat down in the running game. Our offensive line has to stay very physical and keep the ground game going.

And we simply MUST find a way to limit Brian Westbrook.

Those will be the keys, I think our chances are pretty good. But we can't underestimate them.

I know a lot of people aren't going to like it, but I'd expect a similar game plan from what we saw yesterday. Grind 'em down and pound the ball down their throats.

I love that gameplan. I wish we would have done it more this season.

No question that is what we are going to do and it's not a bad idea. But we have got to get Santana the ball more. Owens was just killing Philly on crossing routes last night and I liked that Jason Garrett kept going to him all night. We should beat Philly next week. But it's not going to be easy. It's never easy with this team.

That's the gameplan we would have been using all along if Jansen and Thomas were healthy. I think it's the gameplan we've actually been trying to use, it's just it hasn't always been successful.

Now we have a patchwork line, but you have to figure even a patchwork line will get better as the season goes along. The more they play together, the more comfortable they get. Certainly worked against the Jets. Granted, they're not a strong D. But neither are the Eagles right now. One game at a time, let's line up and mash 'em.

Know what though, I might be a little twisted, but you know how most people would say the coolest thing in football is a bomb to a WR for a TD? I'd take pulling guards bearing down on a poor DB 99 times out of 100. That's just fun to me.

Smash face. Redskins football.

It really comes down the the Skins/Eagles game....we beat them and their divisional record is 0-4 out of 6 total games.
That, my friend, would be a Major problem for them.

It is time to lock them in the cellar.

I agreed with Moose yesterday when he said the excuses are over for our OL, they've had a few weeks together now and it's time for them to produce.

I too love to see a good old beatdown on a DB. There was that one play yesterday where CP was following Kendall and CP gave him a nice shove into a defender, I was loving that play! CP was finishing his runs strong yesterday and I think he really set the tone for the day.

I think Philly's playoff hopes are all but dead. But, Philly is the type of team that has the potential to be explosive. The Redskins should beat Philly this weekend, but Philly sure has the ability to beat us.

Re: Is Philly Officially Dead?

I think we have the chance to lock Philly down once and for all. I mean, they still have their Pats matchup and a loss to them is as certain as anything, so handing them their 6th loss should all but end their playoff chances.

If they beat us however, 4-5 is hardly dead in the NFC.
