Re: Who called the 2nd timeout?

Gibbs blew it and then they focus the camera in on Landry to make it look like he did something. I mean how can you not know the rules. You haven't coached college since 1972 so what makes you think the rules are the same. You think he would have learned by now. It's rediculous plus that soft zone crap we play in so they can just work their way down the field.
To play devil's advocate for a minute here. Let's just suppose someone else (Danny Smith?) had called the timeout, does anyone really think Gibbs would have done anything other than take the blame for it?

I'm not saying Gibbs didn't call the timeout. I'm sure he did. But if he didn't, do you think (save for video evidence) anyone would ever know?
i see your point and yes you are most likely correct in assuming he would, but honestly this is what you get when you take the heat for it.
I think Gibbs acknowledged calling both, but does the TO really make a difference. We should not have allowed then the opportunity to be in FG range.
I agree. Only one touchdown the entire game..that's the issue, not an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty call.

week in week out we play our guts out. what do we have to do to not let this happen? as a skins fan, and i'm sure i speak for many, you almost expect it on a weekly basis and that negativity is not cool. however, the only way to circumvent that thought from fans is up to this team and coaching staff. in a nutshell, shit's frustrating and depressing. I'll always love the skins and they've brought many smiles to my face but happen to let me down at the wrong times here as of late....how could we lose this game?????!!!!!!!

The 2nd timeout was a rookie mistake; it was not the kind of mistake a HoF coach should make. Did it cost us the game? Who knows, but it may have. Then again, the O-line was God awful. How many times did Portis have decent holes to hit? How many times did it appear that a blocking assignment was missed? How many times was JC hit? Moreover, the defense didn't break, but they bent enough to let our offensive struggles doom us.

I new here to this site but not to the 'Skins...

It seems that it is entirely fitting that a mental breakdown led to the loss...I'm amazed that the guys could all pull it together to even be out there today after losing a family member.

60 minutes played while remembering one of the defensive leaders...no TDs allowed. Well done under UNTHINKABLY HORRIBLE conditions.

Fine with me and I thank them for their effort...there are MUCH bigger issues that most folks are considering.

That's for sure. It was like they didn't even show up for the 2nd Half. JC was getting sacked so much I thought Kitna was back there throwing.

If this was any other coach I really think he'd be fired but its Gibbs so he wont.

It was stunning to hear the "Joe must go!" chants at the beginning of Post Game live. Who would have imagined Gibbs et al would be such a disaster? Not me thats for sure.

Good teams can put up more than 17 points. Yes, our defense bent but not that much. A good team should be able to put up 20+ points each week.

I heard that too. I was trying to figure out what they were saying but, I'm apparently kinda deaf. Looks like the fans are done coddling Gibbs. I personally don't agree with Gibbs 2.0 but I go with whatevers best for the team. And if that's Gibbs, then I fully support that. But to hear people out there actually chanting that they don't even want him anymore.. That's gotta hurt.

I presume that most of the "Joe Must Go" chanters were (a) teens who weren't alive for Gibbs I and/or (b) the ahistorical, "what have you done for me lately" types. I am pissed at Gibbs for the T.O. and the buck stops at his feet, but my strong sense of history and loyalty to the man who MADE this franchise make me want to let the man coach as long as he wants.
