Re: Dick Vermeil
Isn't Vermeil 4.6 billion years old? Is this yet another joke?
Make Ray Brown offensive line coach!
I said that in another thread! I wouldn't mind having RB back...... |
Re: Dick Vermeil
What do you guys think of Vermeil being our head coach for a couple of years. Vermeil and Gibbs are very good friends and he knows Saunders very well. Dick Vermeil is a proven coach although he is older than Gibbs. If he wants to be a coach again I believe we could look at him for a couple of years.
Interesting, have'nt heard his name brought up though.

Re: Dick Vermeil
People complained that Joe Gibbs was too old to coach. What about Dick Vermeil? He's older than Joe Gibbs! I like Dick Vermeil. He cares about his players, and he's obviously a very emotional guy. However, I don't see him ever coming back to coaching again. Although, he does have the Al Saunders connection, so who knows? It would probably work, but we would be looking for another coach in a matter of a couple years.

Re: Dick Vermeil
All these new coach threads are getting painful.

Re: Dick Vermeil
I still want to stay in house, but the Danny appears to want to go outside. I wonder what his relationship with GW is like.
What makes you think Snyder wants to go outside? I've seen absolutely no evidence of that. |

http://www.redskinswarpath.com/405353-post13.html
I sincerely hope that is the case, basically formalities and the Rooney Rule. But you never know with Danny. he said he learned patience from Gibbs, the biggest thing I noticed in Gibbs departure conference, I hope he learned to exercise it. |
Re: Dick Vermeil
Williams is the favorite right now. If he wants it, and I imagine he does, it's basically his unless some other candidate blows them out the water. But they'd like to keep as much in place as possible. Starting with Williams moving up to HC (but not President).
Better Dick Vermeil than Brian Billick.
Seriously though, think of all the juvenile thread titles we could have! Really seriously though, fine coach but not the direction we want to go in I don't think.
Yeah seriously, Billick would be a horrible, horrible choice. I'm not a fan of him at all. |

I can also see him struggling in his first year and DS not giving him another shot. By then Cowher will be available and ....who knows.

Re: Dick Vermeil
I should state for the record that IMO it should be GW.

Re: Dick Vermeil
Is it 2008 or 1978? Maybe Vermeil will coach the Skins if LaVar comes back.
