Re: How long until we are in another superbowl?
For me, it's easy to say one or two years as easy as it is to say fifteen years. It seems that every year, EVERY team in the conference gets better to where there is no clear winner. Basically the formula for success is like this: field a good enough team for a playoff bid, avoid as many injuries as possible and then make sure you don't shit the bed during the playoffs.
To me, aside from the Pats, it almost seems like ANY team that's .500 or above could win it. It's a good and bad thing for me that you basically can't make any good predictions on who wins the Super Bowl every year. |
i tried to make a poll, how can you make one.
It's a Mod thing...PM one of the Mods and see if they'll add one. Or perhaps one of them will just stumble upon this thread and create one... |
Re: How long until we are in another superbowl?
I'd like to think we have a good chance next year. I think I said in another thread, it's like the pieces are there but they don't quite fit together and we're still missing a few. If we can address those things this off-season, I think we have a good chance at at least another playoff spot next year.

I agree the pieces are there too. I also believe any half descent coach that gets the job (hope it's G Williams) can make this work with what Gibbs left. Danny,Danny,Danny scares the hell out of me tho. I truly hope he wasn't smoke screening when he said how much he learned from Joe. Especially the part about patience. |
Re: How long until we are in another superbowl?
If you ask Snyder-next year.
If you ask Len Pastabelly-never. If you ask me-somewhere in between. |

Hoe long has it been?

Re: How long until we are in another superbowl?
Until the inevitable changes to this roster are made and we can check out which players we gained and which players we lost, I don't think it's possible to gauge our SB chances for next year at least, to say nothing of the future. We were all excited about how this team finished and how it looked against some quality opponents down the stretch, but a number of players on this current squad will not be returning, and it would be fantasy to assume that we're only going to lose ones we don't want and will replace them with equal or higher quality players. Yes, the team has a solid core, but it's also not dominant at any position, which means that the offseason changes will be critical, and only then will we have a decent view of its SB chances.

Re: How long until we are in another superbowl?
A lot depends on our coaching staff next season. I do believe if we keep the same core group of guys, add another really good WR and upgrade both lines, we have a shot in a year or two.
All depends on who we get as head coach though. If we get someone totally off the wall who comes in and shakes the roster up, it could be another 5 years or more. |
If we keep the team together (coaching and most players comeback) have a nice draft (DE,OL,CB,WR) sign a few FA. We could be in it next year as long as they build momentum from this year, it wouldn't surprise me.
