So would I. Considering we have an extra 3rd rounder to play with why not?
My thoughts exactly. Its like drafting Lito in the 3rd!

One thing to keep in mind. One, probably the biggest reason, the Eagles are entertaining trade offers for Sheppard is to stock up on draft picks to use as leverage to go after a WR (Roy Williams? Chad Johnson?)

Well even if they did stockpile picks and then we went after Lito, ultimately we would have someone to cover ocho cinco!

So we would be straight either way.

I dont even think Lito is as good as Springs OR Smoot. So in your analogy he would not even be covering a CJ type receiver, he'd be covering more of a slot reciever in the nickel. Id rather trade for a WR and draft a CB, not the other way around. But if i had to id go no higher then a third, maybe throw in a late pick next year based on playing time.

Im on The 3:10 to Roy Williamsville. hahaha..

Too pricey, John Eubanks and a 7th rounder would be nice.

lol@ the 3:10 to Roy Williams-ville

But Lito is better than any corner we have. He is the only one to be in the pro bowl in the last 5 years. He is young, and he has 3 career INT for TD's. He would instantly be our best cover corner hands down. Spring would still be the best" press" corner, but Liot would beour top dawg.

I dont think we would need to give up the 2nd round pick, but a 3rd would do.

I don't want any of Lito, outside out his playing ability. Personally I think he's an excellent player BUT he hasn't played in more then 13 (regular season games) in a season since 2005. One times an accident, two times is a coincidence, three times is a pattern.

Also speaking of 3:10's, I hear that JJ Stokes is trying to get back into the league. He's 6'5 people and at one point he was proclaimed as the next Jerry Rice :D

At the end of a recent yahoo article it says that Pro Bowl CB DeAngelo Hall was traded for 2nd & 5th round picks. Is this an good or bad option for the Redskiins?

Would you pay that price for a young Pro Bowl caliber CB? If so how does that free us up in the draft? Can we move Carlos Rogers to safety? Lol. Who knows?

All Im saying is that at the end of the day, it is a possibility.

Discuss.
DeAngelo Hall is a better player than Sheppard, plus he's two years younger. Plus, Hall may be the fastest player in the league, for what that's worth. No way do I include a 2nd in any trade for Sheppard.
The Eagles are all about homegrown talent. Why would they go to free agency to acquire a Pro Bowl CB when they already own the rights to a Pro Bowl CB? In this case it is caveat emptor...if the Eagles are telling you they want to discard him more than likely it's for good reason.

I believe what they are saying. I have no desire to acquire this guy for anything over a 4th round pick.
The Eagles have actually always been about growing talent and then letting them go for bigger contracts. Just ask Hugh Douglas, Jeremiah Trotter, Duece Staley, Michael Lewis, Jonathon Welbourn, Derrek Burgess, Bobby Taylor, Corey Simon, and probably many others I can't think of right off the top of my head.

I don't think the fact that they want to part with him in and of itself means he can't play anymore, although obviously they have doubts about him returning to his probowl form, as do I.

I don't see the Eagles trading Lito within the division.
I also think a 2 and a 5 is too much to give.

Is he not as good or does he not talk as much as Hall? Hall is a self promotor and not that good. I don't remember him ever shutting anyone down.
I'd pay a 2nd and a 5th if I was very confident Lito was healthy and would hold up well over the course of a full season. But I don't see how you can be confident about that.

Hall went for that price because he's a maniac malcontent. Lito's not quite as good as Hall, and he's pretty darn injury prone.
Pro Bowl in 2005 and 2006. Won the NFL's fastest man competition in 2005. 8th overall pick in the '04 draft.

He's very good. But he's a wacko.

Re: A 2nd & 5th Round Pick for Lito?!
also figure in the huge contract that Hall got. While it doesn't have anything directly to do w/the trade terms, it affected the Falcons ability to deal him. Teams knew his agent was asking for big $.

That, combined w/his attitude might've lowered the price as Hall might be worth a 1st round pick in terms of his ability. Lito, like Schneed said, is worth a 2nd & 5th if healthy, but there's not a good history there. Who knows, the same was said of Springs when the skins signed him. He's still had his injury problems but has been our best cb for 4 years.

I'd rather not enter into the lito sweepstakes, there is a good crop of cb's in this draft & I think we'll nab one in the first 3 rounds.
I agree. I think that there are good corners in the 3rd round e.g. Tracy Porter, Patrick Lee, Charles Godfrey

Nope

that 2nd could be talib and that 5th could be another montgomery or hayer.
