I know you addressed your question to JoeR, but let me take a crack. He'd be facing hundreds of years in prison in just about any state in the country.

Honestly, I don't know exactly but certainly life w/out parole is a possibility in every State (I think) and, unlike the European system, he could get consecutive sentences for the kidnapping, false imprisonment, rape, and everything else the could charge him with.

What appears to be a significant difference in the two systems is that, in the US, prosecutors can keep adding charges for different crimes and keep piling on the years.

Mind you, I am not a criminal lawyer - I just play one on the Warpath.

Well, for every good action, there is always a negative. For the 17 they have found, I am confident they have put to justice thousands upon thousands.
You hate to hear stories about guys that were innocent, but unfortunately it's a side effect of our system.

I second the Texas Justice System for this guy. What really amazes me is that his wife had no clue! How do you not know there is a basement or cellar under your house.

Did you guys read that this sick fuck actually claims that he loved and cared about his "secret family"? He said that if it weren't for him that the 19 who was brought to the hospital would never have survived.
HELLO!!!! If it weren't for you raping your own daughter the 19 year would have never even been born and you could have spared a whole generation of kids being forced to live this nightmare!!!

I'm kind of glad that his piece of shit can't be executed because I think a quick death is much more than he deserves. At the same time it pains me to know that he can't be tortured either.

Is it just me or do there seem to be a lot more sex bunkers being built than one would expect? I wouldn't be surprised if that sinkhole was caused by some sex bunkers that caved in.
