Guess this is going to turn into a political battle where no one will listen, and everyone will keep their same frame of mind. There is no point talking about politics here.

First, this thread is about Obama. In case you hadn't noticed, he's running for President. This IS a political thread. Second, so the conservatives can take jabs at Obama, but I can't at McCain?

I'm not discussing politics...my sig is just there for people to view or not.

I am really rather disappointed that Obama didn't sponsor a car. I was curious about the paint scheme. Was he going to big ole picure of his mug on the hood??? I think that would have been fun.

You're not discussing it but that sig is speaking for you, and it doesn't seem to be saying that you're open minded or willing to listen to an opposing viewpoint.

Didn't realize that NASCAR has become political. They've really come a long way from being "a redneck sport". I guess just using the word Obama means we should talk about politics???? Or maybe we should discuss terrorism since he has muslim ties, and since some Muslims are terrorists, that's a logical leap right? (please note I am not saying Obama is a terrorist...I have to make that disclaimer for some reason)

Who are you trying to kid? You're not taking a jab, you're retaliating. Taking jabs is always fun...try not taking it so personally. You're searching for a political fight with your comment. Haven't we ALL learned that politics can not be rationally discussed here without it getting ugly?

Just a side note, this post is more "political" than I even want to get on this site.

Not on this site I am not, no. Unless it was one on one...maybe via PM or something. I learned my lesson with the Kerry / Bush election, and the slew of Bush hating threads thereafter. I'm all for discussing with people that are willing to listen.

ps- isn't that the point of a sig? To let it speak for you without discussion?

It was a pointless comment from 70Chip in the first place. But that's what he does. 70Chip doesn't miss a chance to crack on the left (he's not the only one to do that, for either side). But he certainly does it more than most.

It can be annoying sure, but sometimes the best response is no response.

You oftentimes conflate "a difficulting listening" with failing to say "jsarno is absolutely correct." Also, this thread did get political. 70Chip took a swing at Obama (which is fair), and I took a swipe at McCain, yet you only take issue with my comments.

I most certainly took a jab at McCain. I didn't go after 70Chip. So, while I responded to 70Chip's post, I didn't intend to go after him.

Also, I'm not taking it personally. I like reading 70Chip's posts because, even if we disagree, they're usually thoughtful and interesting. I realize you tend to try to discredit people by saying "apparently this issue has gotten you heated up," but I'm not in the slightest bit upset with 70Chip. I take issue with dumb people and a-holes, but 70Chip is neither.

Finally, I'm going to take a breather from political threads. I can't wait for the season to start so we can discuss something else.
