Re: QB...controversy...DC?
Fahrve isn't a good fit with the Redskins right now. We can win with the quarterbacks we already have IF we get some decent blocking.
He's a great defensive back. Would be nice to have him in the fold.
"Great" defensive backs aren't on the street in late July. As to the topic, PFT is less reliable as a source than my mailwoman. Until Favre is at a presser with Zorn and Snyderatto, call me a doubter.. |
Re: QB...controversy...DC?
Giantone what "legs" are you talking about? This article just says Favre could go to the Redskins because, hey, it's the Redskins.
Didn't need its own thread, and you should probably read articles before posting them...
Just that if I come over here and say oh Bret's gona be a Skin ...all of you would shoot me,hell you have 2 or 3 threads about this now but if there is a link (like PFT or not) then there might be more to it then just rumors. I read it ,you just don't like it. |
Re: QB...controversy...DC?
Let's slow down on the "reputable source" talk, PFT is a blog and is as reputable as any blogger can be.
But it seems like the problem is that this "rumor" really has us afraid. On one hand there's the sentiment that "Glad to see Snyder learned his lesson" and stayed lowkey for a change. But on the other hand, there's still the fear that if this rumor sticks around long enough then Danny Boy may just bite. There's still the fear in the heart of all Redskins fans that he still may be seduced by the dark side, or the thought of the number of jerseys he can sell. Of course, all this could just be Bus Cook using the Redskins to drive up the price, which was mentioned on PFT. Or Dan's silence could just be an effort to keep the Redskins in the mainstream media, I mean otherwise they'd mention us only when they talk about rookie coaches and teams *expected to be* dropping out of the playoffs this year. *edit* added the expected to be, since most pundits have us fifth in the four team NFC East |
He's a great defensive back.
Negative. He has terrible character traits and has no heart. He is a complete bust and the Falcons got rid of him(even after they traded up into the second round to get him) just as soon as they could. He is a cancer. Oh yeah and then there is the fact that he got run out of Redskin Park halfway through his pre-draft interview after acting like a punk. I still can't believe that he picked up his cell phone in the middle of his interview with Joe Gibbs and started having a conversation right in front of a football legend. It's just so absurd. |

I read it ,you just don't like it.
Hence the lack of need for a new thread. Post this in one of those. They at least lay out a scenario for Favre going to Carolina. There is nothing new or substantive in this blurb vis-à-vis the Redskins. I can see thinking there might be more to it than rumors prior to reading it, however, upon reading it clearly there is not. Maybe I'm reacting negatively because I don't like what the article says, or maybe you are just bringing weak sauce to the picnic. |
Re: QB...controversy...DC?
It isn't that PFT is a reliable or unreliable source. They simply post any and all news that they gather from all of the media outlets from around the league. It is what it is: Pro...Football...Talk. If somebody affiliated with some football team says something football related they post it, plain and simple. It's all just water cooler....talk.
As to this rumor, if we do sign Favre, I'll tattoo "I heart PFT" on my right arm. |

Fair enough, I'll drink to that... |

More from PFT
ProFootballTalk.com - MORE ON FAVRE TO THE REDSKINS "The wildly divergent viewpoints, however, mean that no one’s got a clue about how this whole mess is going to end up." Finally, PFT gets it right There isn't much, in my opinion, to be gained by trading for Favre. If Zorn wants to say (and I'm totally making this up) "you know what Campbell's just not my guy. I didn't draft him and I'll say all the right things but truth is I'm more focused on developing Colt for 2009-2010," that's fine I suppose but a) Favre as a stopgap measure wont come cheap and b) a huge investment has already been made in Campbell so just be aware of that. End of the day, I think Campbell is our guy for years to come. |

Re: QB...controversy...DC?
I would only go after Farve if he was released. Other than I wouln't touch him. He's irratic and hes always been a high risk/ high reward player.

Re: QB...controversy...DC?
Giantone, I am aghast, shocked and dismayed that you would lend ANY credence to ANYTHING coming off of ProFootballTalk.com. I've read better crap in the super market check-out line.
That site is the sports writers equivalant of the National Enquirer. By the end of training camps, they will have Bigfoot playing Defensive End for the Jets. And please...a first round draft pick for a guy that will probably announce his retirement AGAIN next March!
Didn't you hear? We're trading picks for Bigfoot too. |
Re: QB...controversy...DC?
"For a conditional first-round draft pick?????"
HAHAHAHHAHAHA |
Re: QB...controversy...DC?
Sigh.... This is so weak. The vast majority of PFT's rumors are farts in the wind.
