Re: Moss has been outstanding!!!
now we just need to throw that stupid 3rd and 2 dump off to cooley gibbs called about 18 times a game and we'll be good to go.
about moss - he is a #1 WHEN HEALTHY. once he hammy blows, his season is pretty much over. in 05 it never happened, and we all saw what that was like... |
nnanaannanana dude there is no way he is a viable #1 reciever, he would be #3 every where else. The guy is terrible, would not make it on a college team. To small, not fast enough, does not have the hands. Plus he always gets hurt, we need to trade him now while he is still looking promising.
Right. And Angelina Jolie is'nt hot, J -LO does'nt have a fine ass, and gas will be 1.49 a gallon when I get up in the morning. |
Re: Moss has been outstanding!!!
LOL> I love the part when he says Moss would not make it on a college team. I needed a good laugh.

to me jolie isnt hot but clearly the guy is nuts |
Re: Moss has been outstanding!!!
He needed to play well cause of Thomas and Kelly. When a team drafts two guys with the first two picks that tells you something. But it's good to see him getting back to his old form.

Re: Moss has been outstanding!!!
pRayers for health. he is a game changer when he is at full speed and able to do his magic. Once he gets dinged though He is invisible almost. I lvoe what he csn do for us but I also know how quickly he becomes useless to us.

Re: Moss has been outstanding!!!
I like Moss A lot but I still say he's not a number 1. He's stepping up for us which is good, but I still say he's a hellava #2. The #1 should be a nice tall possession receiver going up against the #1 CB. Moss would be perfect as a #2 going up against #2 quality CB causing double teams due to his speed.
I disagree that you need a "nice tall possession receiver" for this, or any, offense to thrive. Jerry Rice is 6-2 and played around 190lbs. John Taylor 6-1 185. They teamed to be one of the most explosive WCO offense ever. Of modern players, Deion Branch (should be the Seahawks #1 wr currently) is 5-9 and Nate Burleson (#2) is listed at 6-0 but I think that's with cleats on. Packers run a similar variation with Greg Jennings (5-11) and Donald Driver (6-0). DeSean Jackson is 5-10 and he has looked pretty awesome for the Eagles. Moss and ARE are 5-10. It's not a height issue for them it's a catch the ball even though you will get hit. That's why on 3rd and 8 they'll run a 7 yd cross expecting to catch in stride and run away. Where they are limited is inside the 10 yd line where the rules favor the wr (see the Giants game when the cb was pushed down and flagged) and a tall strong wr should be unstoppable. But for the other 90 yards they should excel. Once in the Red Zone, run a screen, run the ball or toss it to Cooley or Yoder. Or just score from 17 yards out. A good coach fits his offense around his players not try to force good players into a system. |
Re: Moss has been outstanding!!!
Moss being 5'10 has never affected his play and it's not going to start. He's 205lbs of muscle and he is fast as hell. He's a total play maker that ALWAYS gets the YAC. We are blessed to have him as a Skin, and now that JC is getting the ball to him you will all once again see that he's a true probowler. GO TANA MAN!

Re: Moss has been outstanding!!!
I was vocal about Moss not being what we needed him to be, and not being a true #1 wr, but he has certainly been impressive and worthy of our #1 spot thus far. So I felt it fitting to start this thread. He is showing his pro bowl form again, and I love it. I said it before, and I'll say it again, I love watching him create when he catches a slant or screen...he's very explosive when healthy.
week 1- 5 rec, 37 yards, 1 td week 2- 7 rec, 164 yards, 1 td week 3- 7 rec, 75 yards, 1 td He's on pace for 101 receptions, 1472 yards, and 16 tds! Thank you for stepping up Moss...we need it!
Don't forget his big run last week for 27 yards. :) Yep, he's back. He looks incredible. Santana just tied Bobby Mitchell's record for a TD catch in 6 straight games. He'll beat that record next week. No fears of getting horsecollared either. :D Side note - Sinorice has 1 catch for 23 yards this season. |
Re: Moss has been outstanding!!!
How about Jason Campbell and his 100.1 passer rating, 65% completion, 4 TD's and 0 INT's. I love Moss but we should be talking about the guy throwing him the ball.
We are...have you missed the other threads? Seems like all we have talked about is Campbell to this point this year, Moss deserved some love. |
Re: Moss has been outstanding!!!
Tell Steve Smith and Marvin Harrison that you can't be a true #1 unless you're 6'4". Moss is injury-prone, but he is dominant when healthy. Moss has top flight speed, acceleration, and agility and I have yet to see anyone adjust to the ball like he can.

Re: Moss has been outstanding!!!
As well as Moss has done this year, it was that first deep TD clutch Campbell to Moss catch that makes him dangerous.
Until that happened against the Saints, I don't remember any Campbell passes to Moss that were of the same sort that Brunell had with him. This deep chemistry was sorely needed....especially with a west coast system when most passes are under 10 yards....not to mention the positive impact that has on the running game.....now they are going deep at least once a game....and that my friends makes a productive 1st down machine into a quick strike offense....that is a MAJOR development. |

The only one I could find was the 'JC is not what I thought' thread that was bumped after the AZ game. But I regress... |
