blitzing with the lbs and the cbs is going to help the dls.not only will the ol have to concentrate on blocking the guy in front of him but out of the corner of his little eyes he's gonna have to keep a look out for a lb or a cb shooting in.

jrocx69 09-06-2004 12:20 PM

you forgot to mention the down side of blitzing cbs and lbs can be...
its not that easy, you have to have a good front four. maybe we have it, but i havent seen it. majority of games are won in the trenches my man. and with guys like demetric evans...? i dunno... we'll see, but i would like robinson cuz he pretty consistant and played under blache as well has a good relationship with him

wolfeskins 09-06-2004 12:27 PM

very true my friend but i think ( being optimistic ) the d line is better than people give them credit for. i also feel that all the blitzing will help them

wolfeskins 09-06-2004 12:35 PM

the skins havn't had a defense as agressive as this one in a long time, not even marvin lewis' defense. i would much rather have an agressive d that might get burnt once in a while than a conservative d that sits back, gets picked apart and still gets burnt.with an agressie d the skins will at least force some turnovers

Big C 09-06-2004 12:39 PM

robinson is an upgrade to noble, or salavea, whoever owuld start. he has been consistent, and has good speed for a DT, although he is undersized somewhat in the weight category. blache knows him, he would not bring him in if he didnt like something about him

offiss 09-06-2004 12:44 PM

The guy's credential's are far better than Evan's, it can't hurt to give him a shot.

illdefined 09-06-2004 12:58 PM

remember we're thin at DB now. who's gonna cover the WR Springs leaves at the line to blitz the qb? much less replace him if Springs gets hurt by running backs or Olinemen trying to block him?

we really need to develop good pressure from the front four, pure and simple. anything else is a workaround that leaves a gap that any offense that does is its homework can exploit.

BossHog 09-06-2004 01:36 PM

Yeah. Let's sign him right away so that Lemar Marshall can give of that ugly #98 jersey. What? Was he some sort of a Jessie Armstead fan or something?

Maybe he is a Lawrence Taylor fan and he knows he is not taking 56 from LaVar.

skins009 09-06-2004 02:34 PM
hmm sounds risky. and obviously why he needs so much speed in his players. wonder what he'd do if he had a killer Dline?
He did in Tenesse. And the result was a better defense statically than the ravens the year they won the super bowl.

drew54 09-06-2004 05:21 PM

Just saw the Dolphins signed him as it ran across the bottom line.

All I have to say is, damn, he would have been an upgrade, but I feel Ron Warner is a beast.

Lets not forget that our safties are now very versatile. Lott and Taylor can also cover like corners. This gives us lots of diferent looks. And when has a D-coordintor come to the Redskins that hasn't preached he is going to be aggressive. That is the natural response of all D-Coordinators. This is the 1st one that we have had who does blitz on a consistent basis. The D-turned 14 points in the 1st quarter against a supposed strong offense the Falcons.

Kepp on blitzing Mr. Williams with your corners, safties and linebackers.

is that true? DAMN. why is our Dline not a priority for us?? that's Kearse, Ogun, Douglas, and now Robinson we let slip by. we're supposed to dominate with guys like Wynn, Evans and Warner?? i really don't get it.

blitzing with our DBs and LBs is all fine and good, but is it smart to do it every down, and won't smart QBs eventually find the holes??

experts and fans alike all see the 'Skin Dline as a weak point, and nothing at all is being done about it. whats with the blinders???

That Guy 09-06-2004 08:39 PM

miami has more cap space due to their glaring holes on offense... we can't compete with that. we did make offers, so its not that the FO isn't trying, they're just getting outbid.

EEich 09-06-2004 08:52 PM
DAMN. why is our Dline not a priority for us??
Not really necessary in Williams' system. Priority is on LBs and DBs to take the pressure off the line. It's worked pretty well for him.
