Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

I can't figure the best thread to post this, I know it has been said in several, but here are the records the teams we have lost to:
NY Giants (11-1) Division Leader (2 losses)
Pittsburgh(9-3) Division Leader
Dallas (8-4) (Split 1-1 on season)
St. Louis (2-10) last place (Our loss came after their bye AND first game with a new head coach

So, we are not elite, but at the same token, other than Baltimore we have no reason to think we won't beat the other 3 teams on our schedule. Yes the wins haven't been pretty, but they have been wins.

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

2-2 I think. Given the power shift in the conference over to the NFC South (anyone who still thinks the East is better is smoking something), I believe we're gonna have to win out to make it. And that isn't going to happen.

I'm not even thinking about the playoffs at this point. I'm doing my best Jim Mora, Sr. imitation. I'm just thinking about how we're going to score a single point against Baltimore's D. We stink at night on National TV. However, we aren't playing at home, so we may actually win.

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

Also, all the teams we have beat have a 7-5 or worse record (except Dallas), so I think it is fair to say, we are what the record says we are: an above average team, that wins against the lesser opponents, and loses to the better teams. With that in mind, we will probably lose to Baltimore, but we will win the other three. (We could beat Baltimore, just like we beat Dallas once).
Bad thing is, that doesn't bode well if we do make it into the playoffs :(

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

Before the season I said we were most likely an 8-8 team. When we sat at 4-1 and then 6-2, I scoffed at my preseason prediction. Now I'm reverting and giving myself a little more credit. Unfortunately I think we'll only beat my prediction by 1 game at best.

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

It's coaching sabatoge.....we will end up 7-9 and get a decent position in the draft. about middle of the road. Only cause we are not Detroit.

just kidding. The way we have been playing I don't know. We have been playing to the level of our opponent up until last weekend with the Giants. When I say that I mean we played Dallas hard, Pitt hard and several other teams but looking at the Cardinals, Rams and Detroit we played to their level. So having said that and no offense...I can see 7-9. Baltimore will win. They have the better defense. We play terrible when playing better defenses. The Bengals know how to put points on the board. Simply look at how they played the Giants. Depending on which 49er team shows up ....more then likely the Monday night 49ers and they will score more even though they look horrible doing it. We might beat the Eagles. I'm not sure but the Eagles need to even the score with us and so far we have not been good in the division the second time around.

We are probably somewhere between a 7-9 team and a 9-7 team to be honest.

3-1 at best, 1-3 at worst. So I'll go with 2-2, with losses to Baltimore and Philly.
Just the other day there was a thread with people ragging on the Eagles falling apart and today people have then winning our game against them.
yeah, that's because Philly can be truly a great team that posts 48 points or a really shitty team that scores like the Redskins and plays flat depending on what headcase-trainwreck Dono does on any given Sunday. he seems to have gotten his head back so... w/ good Dono Philly is a better team than we are. Bad Dono, Philly is one of the worst teams in foosball...

it's science.

1-3 (no explanation).

I had to go 1-3 also. I truely believe we can win atleast one more game, but not sure who it will be against. If nothing else some idiot shows the players this poll and it ticks them off and they go 4-0. Will that happen ...no.

But it would be badass :)

I really think Baltimore, Philly and SanFran are losses for us. Cinci is questionable.

Baltimore - Loss
Cincinnati - Win
Philadelphia - Loss
San Fran - Loss

1-3

3-1.... loss to Eagles. They will beat Baltimore to restore hope, then lose to Philly, finish 10-6 and not make the playoffs. Still a good season. Kelly and Thompson have to step up in 09.

Who's Thompson? Scott Thompson?
2-2. I think we lose to Baltimore and Philly, a close win over CIN, but we blow SF out of the water on the road, giving us optimism for the future.
I agree with this, I think teams that can effectively blitz are going to make this team look bad until the o line figures out how to protect Jason Campbell. It's amazing to me that no replacements have been made, but I have confidence in Jim Zorn and trust his judgment (even if I disagree).

Anyway, I think the Ravens have a good chance of absolutely destroying the Skins and Philly may win by a margin of 10 or more, but I think a 10 point win over the 9ers and a 20 point win over the Bengals will lead to a 9-7 record.

If you had told me Zorn would lead this team to 9-7 at the beginning of the year, I would have been pleased. Nothing will change once I get over the fact that the strong start was wasted.
