Re: Valentines Day Plans
I find it hard to believe that there are so many guys out there who clam that their women are no into Valentines Day.
In reality there are only 2 types of women who do not like V-Day 1. Lying women 2. Tranny's (because they are actually dudes) There are also several women who have been hurt before so they claim to not like the holiday. In reality they just hate the man that hurt them and would actually be open to the idea of Romance on V-Day. She may not be into flowers or candy, but you best do something for her because she does care.
I'm not into Valentine's Day. I could care less. We might exchange cards, but that's about it. I'd rather my husband and I spend our money on more practical things, which is why we don't do birthdays or anniversaries either. |

I'm echoing Lady Brave on behalf of my wife. She's too sensible to give a crap about Valentine's Day. She thinks it's more practical to spend money on something we really want, she'd rather spend it as a family with our daughter involved (as would I), and she sees me say and show that I love her every day. There's no need for a "holiday" to commemorate it, that's what our anniversary is for. Angry, believe it or not there are women out there who have two feet on the ground. |
Re: Valentines Day Plans
I'm buying a double bag vacuum cleaner as a gift and I'm planning to help the flower and chocolate industry. The restaurant industry will have to wait a while.

No doubt. My best friend's wife actually mocks the absurdity of Valentine's Day. It's pretty awesome. My girlfriend is starting to get there. She's finds V-Day less and less significant every year. |

Ditto. My husband and I make every effort to express appreciation for what the other does. We don't take each other for granted. All those small acts of kindness throughout the year mean more to me than any holiday ever will. |

Not on this side of Montgomery county. I would love to meet one of them. |
Re: Valentines Day Plans
Valentine's day is just another chance for me to disappoint the women in my life. This year will be no exception.

Yeah, you'll be hard up to find a woman with 2 feet on the ground in any part of MoCo ;) My wife is in the same boat as Schneed's and LB, she would rather us spend money on things we need or on the kids than on an extravagant evening. Plus it helps that her birthday is at the end of the month and our anniversary is April 1st. I'm thinking this is what I'll be making tomorrow night: Grilled shrimp and tilapia with a lemon dill cream sauce, baked sweet potatoes with butter and cinnamon, fresh steamed veggies, french baguette, and a bottle (or 2) of pinot grigio. |
Re: Valentines Day Plans
So I have the day off today (stuck working tomorrow instead), and I was watching News 4 at midday. They asked viewers to email their opinions on Valentine's Day, and said they would read a few at the end of the show. So I sent my thoughts, and my email was the first one they read!!
"I think Valentine's Day is a contrived Hallmark Holiday designed to get consumers to spend. It's great to express your feelings to your loved one, and you don't need a made up holiday to do so." |
Re: Valentines Day Plans

Jan-New Years Feb-Daughter's B-Day and V-Day Mar-April- Easter May-Wifes B-Day June-Son's B-Day July-Independence day and Daughter's B-Day August-My Parents Aniversary September-My Aniversary Oct-Halloween and Daughter's B-Day Nov-Turkey Day Dec-Christmas OK, so I get one month that doesn't cost me. Whichever month Easter doesn't fall in. |
