re: Larry Foote Could be Cut Soon by Steelers
Well another team did cut him, so we certainly should bring him in. Let Danny spend money on him, that way we can have some more FO Bashing if he doesn't pan out.
I am not saying we should or shouldn't. It just amazes me, we just spent a draft trying to bring in some guys that might contribute as LB's and the FO gets bashed for not meeting a need. Another team releases a LB that does not meet the exact need, and who we have a good track record of, and the reaction is knee jerk to go get him. If a starting OT gets released then call me, as for LB, lets get MW back, and go forward with the ones we are building. |

How can I bash the FO when you talk like that? |
I think this is more about Lawrence Timmons then a cap cut. Timmons could walk in and start on a lot of teams in the NFL yet he's been on the Steelers bench for a couple of years.
I think You have a point about Timmmons.. He's alot quicker and less money. |
re: Larry Foote Could be Cut Soon by Steelers
When I first read the title I saw it as Larrys Foot Cut.
|
re: Larry Foote Could be Cut Soon by Steelers
Somewhere I saw the Title
Steelers amputate Foote Thought that was funny Or in lieu of the one guy who cut his hand with a straight razor: Steelers give Foote the boot. |
re: Larry Foote Could be Cut Soon by Steelers
I think we should definitely look into adding him though I don't know how well he'd fit our scheme, he's been an ILB in the 3-4 for most of his career.
This has nothing to do with his ability, Foote's a really good player, actually. It has everything to do with the fact that the Steelers believe Lawrence Timmons is going to be better than both Harrison and Woodley... which is scary quite frankly. Again, Foote can play and play well but I don't know what the record is on guys who played in a 3-4 for their entire careers and then switch to the 4-3 or even what position he'd play for us. |

I wouldn't be surprise; it would be good move for Jets.. I wonder how will Rex Ryan do with Jets defense, just as how will Ravens defense will do without him.. |
re: Larry Foote Could be Cut Soon by Steelers
Hill is a better fit then Foot for the Skins. Foot is so so againest the pass. More a inside LB in a 3-4 D! As for cost isn't next season a uncap season most likley? So pay Hill what we can this year and make it bigger in 2010 were the cap is no longer in play!

re: Larry Foote Could be Cut Soon by Steelers
He's solid. I'd be happy if he came here for a reasonable price -- even for just depth.

Edited the thread title for accuracy

Re: Larry Foote Could be Cut Soon by Steelers
If we spend 5th round picks on RBs turned LBs with shady pasts; why not a future 6th or 7th for a solid starter like Foote?
